The U.S. economy is becoming increasingly fragile, and Goldman Sachs just released a statement warning of a 35% chance of recession in the next year, up from 20%, as economic growth slows, inflation climbs to 3.5%, and unemployment rises to 4.5%. 

The cause, according to the Wall Street bank? President Donald Trump's trade war and increasing tariffs that are eating into Americans' income and making it harder to keep up with the cost of living. 

A University of Michigan survey shows that fears of unemployment are at an all-time high since the Great Recession. As such, people are frantically looking for new opportunities to get ahead of this that also allow them to work from home or offer better pay so they can stop living paycheck to paycheck.

However, it can be challenging to stand out in a crowded field of potential candidates for the job you have your heart set on. Maybe you're concerned about your previous experience or education and certifications.
