Cash Giraffe Review [2025]: My Experience Playing + Cashing Out

Is Cash Giraffe legit?

Cash Giraffe is a legitimate app (not a scam) that allows you to earn real money by playing games, using apps, or taking surveys on your phone. It's available for both Android and iOS devices. It has over 10 million downloads on Google Play, with a rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars. In the Apple App Store, where the app was released in April 2025, it has a 4.7-star rating.

I spent a few hours testing Cash Giraffe and can vouch for its legitimacy. I recommend the game app to people who like trying new games.

What is Cash Giraffe?

Cash Giraffe is a free rewards app for Android and iOS that pays you for your time playing games and for completing offers. It differs from other legit game apps because you don't have to enter pay-to-play competitive tournaments or win anything to earn money.

How much can you earn with Cash Giraffe?

How much money you can make playing Cash Giraffe depends on how long you play and your strategy for earning, but you could earn between $1 and $7 an hour. Many regular users report earning around $10 to $30 per week.

After about five hours of testing the app, I earned $5. More specifically, 49,047 gems, enough to redeem for an Amazon gift card. That's an effective hourly rate of $1.44, and it's all legit cash (not bonus cash trapped in the game, as you'll see with some paid game apps).

I played multiple games during my testing. If I had focused on my highest-earning game offers, I think I could have increased my hourly rate to $7.

My experience testing Cash Giraffe

I played Cash Giraffe for over five hours. Here's what I learned while testing it.

Signing up

I received a 4,499-coin welcome gift when I first registered for the Cash Giraffe app (worth about $0.50 by itself).

I earned gems by playing a few of the recommended apps for different amounts of time and with different earning rates. Each game or app tells you exactly how much you can earn upfront and what you need to do to get there, such as reaching a specific level. This sets Cash Giraffe apart in a good way from many similar apps, which don't always make it clear how much each offer is worth.

Game and app offers

Here's what I was offered to play a few different games:

• 1,716 per minute for playing Coin Master
• 334 per minute for playing Phase 10
• 1,036 per minute for playing Family Island
• 338 per minute for playing Bingo Blitz

As you can see, earning rates can vary significantly. Available offers also often change, so if you see an app you want to use, download it immediately. Other featured apps that weren't games included TikTok, Scatter Slots, and Love & Pies.

Playing games and earning

With my bonus and play time, I earned 49,047 gems, which I could redeem for a $5 Amazon gift card.

When I downloaded Family Island, I earned 1,074 gems per minute during a limited-time, double-earning special event. After playing for about 25 minutes, the rate dropped, and I made about 72 gems per minute.

I played:

• Family Island for 0.58 hours
• Phase 10 for 1.2 hours
• Coin Master for 1.7 hours

I played Phase 10 nearly as much as Coin Master, but made less because of the game's lower earning rate. If I had played Coin Master instead of Phase 10, I could have earned enough for a $5 Amazon gift card in about 42 minutes. This would increase my hourly rate to $7 per hour.

How to get started

To get started with Cash Giraffe, you'll provide an email address and password to register your account. If you use a lot of apps that pay you to play games, it's smart to create a separate email for these accounts. If you don't want to provide an email address, you can register using your Google or Facebook (Meta) account.

You'll also be required to provide your age and gender when registering, which Cash Giraffe uses to verify your identity. You must be at least 18 years old to use the app and earn real money. This age requirement is common, but some apps, such as Freecash, permit users as young as 16 to sign up.

After registering, you'll need to allow activity tracking (you won't be able to start without doing so). Cash Giraffe records your playtime by tracking your app usage in the background. This is standard protocol for apps like this, which need to confirm your time or progress.

Once your account is ready, you can earn gems by completing featured offers. You can then redeem these gems via PayPal payout or gift card. When you're ready to cash out, you'll link a PayPal account and may be required to take a selfie to confirm that you are who you say you are.

Remember that you don't compete in cash tournaments with Cash Giraffe, as you do with many competitive paid game apps. This is why the app is better for casual gamers and doesn't require any money to get started. There's also a lot of variety among the games you can play via Cash Giraffe. 

Cash Giraffe states that earning more becomes more difficult as you continue using one app. The developers suggest frequently trying new apps instead of playing apps you've already tried for a long time.

Types of games

According to Cash Giraffe, its games are broken down into four categories:

• Puzzle and brain teaser games
• Arcade and casual games (including slot machine games, coloring games, base builder games, etc.)
• Strategy and card games (like bingo, solitaire, etc.)
• Action and adventure games

For all of these, you'll generally just focus on beating levels.

Cash Giraffe payout options and time

Cash Giraffe pays real money, but you'll start by earning gems. These can be redeemed for PayPal cashouts or gift cards. To cash out via PayPal, you need to earn at least $0.20 (note that all PayPal payouts are in euros).

For gift cards, the minimum you need to meet depends on your chosen card, but typically starts at $5. Cash Giraffe's payout structure is a bit confusing compared to other game apps like it.

The app offers gift cards to Amazon, Walmart, Starbucks, and many others.

Most gift card redemption options offer a small discount on the number of gems required to redeem for higher denominations. For example, two $5 Starbucks gift cards would be 94,130 gems, whereas a $10 Starbucks gift card is only 93,188 (a savings of 942). This benefit increases at higher denominations, such as $20 and $50. Four $5 PayPal redemptions would cost 188,260 gems, whereas a $20 PayPal payout would only cost 182,667, resulting in a savings of 5,593 gems.

After redeeming, a gift card code will be sent to your email within seven business days, but often instantly. PayPal deposit should be made within five business days. When I requested an Amazon gift card payout, I received an email with a link to the virtual gift card within 24 hours from a service called Tango Card.

Be careful with redemptions. Once you request a payout, you can't cancel it.

Steps to redeem earnings

There are no fees to redeem rewards with Cash Giraffe. Just follow these steps:

1. Go to the bottom of the app, click "Payouts," and select the redemption option by clicking on the number of gems it costs.

1. Verify your email address by clicking the link in the email.

1. Log in to your PayPal account if you are getting paid in cash; or

1. Select the gift card you want, and confirm it's the method you'd like to be paid out in.

How to earn more money with Cash Giraffe

There are a few ways to increase the amount of money you make with Cash Giraffe. These include:

• Spend time using the recommended apps. The more time you spend using the apps and playing the games that appear on Cash Giraffe, the more gems you can earn.
• Check in frequently for new app suggestions. New apps can offer higher earning rates, especially right after you download and start to use them.
• Play games and use apps during bonus rounds. Your earnings are multiplied during bonus rounds, which are limited-time events.
• Invite your friends. If your friends join Cash Giraffe through your link, you'll earn 200 coins for each friend you invite, and you'll each receive 25% of the coins the other subscriber earns.

Cash Giraffe reviews

The Cash Giraffe app has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on Google Play and 4.6 stars in the App Store. We're very glad the app is now available to both Android and iOS users, as there wasn't an Apple version of Cash Giraffe for a while.

Most users have had positive experiences with the app. However, a few common complaints are that:

• Some people experience issues with receiving payouts, and Cash Giraffe customer service doesn't seem to help.

• The app's usage tracking functionality sometimes doesn't work properly.

Common problems and solutions

Activity tracking

One of the biggest potential problems you can run into with Cash Giraffe is with activity tracking. Many users report the app not properly tracking their time played, which means they don't earn the full amount of gems they're entitled to.

What to do: It's important to check to make sure Cash Giraffe is tracking your activity as it should by paying attention to your timers and progress bars. If it's not, reach out to support by emailing contact@appstation.online. A representative can check your Cash Giraffe activity in the system and tell you if there are any problems. Games can take up to 24 hours to show when you've beaten a level, according to Cash Giraffe.

All that said, it's worth noting that this isn't unique to Cash Giraffe. Other gaming rewards apps that use activity tracking can occasionally have similar glitches.

Changing payouts

Some users report that the app appears to change the earning structure from a per-minute to a per-level basis, which may result in reduced earnings. This happened to some users after they cashed out for the first time.

What to do: Act on any offers you see quickly, and don't play games you don't love if the potential earnings change for the worse. I found that the best gem-earning rates were for new and featured apps, as well as during special events.

Differing earnings vs. payouts

Cash Giraffe pays out earnings in euros because its developer, justDice, is based in Hamburg, Germany. Payouts are made to PayPal and converted to USD for U.S.-based players. The USD-to-euro exchange rate won't always work in your favor, and you'll likely cash out a little less than you actually earn if you choose PayPal. $15 USD is worth 12.89 euros, for example, as of November 2025.

What to do: If you choose to cash out via PayPal with Cash Giraffe despite this downside, keep the euro conversion rate in mind (or just be aware that you'll probably receive a little less than you expect). Otherwise, consider cashing out via gift cards to keep all of your earnings.

Problems with getting paid

Recently, some users have reported issues with receiving payments from Cash Giraffe. PayPal payouts, in particular, present problems for some. Several mobile app reviews mention that the PayPal cashout screen freezes or fails to load.

What to do: PayPal cashouts can take up to five business days. Allow at least this long for your earnings to appear before contacting customer support.

If you've checked out the apps and game offers from Cash Giraffe, and the platform doesn't feel like the right fit, here are a few similar options we've also enjoyed.

Cash Giraffe vs. Freecash

If you're looking for a platform with more games and tasks to choose from than Cash Giraffe, Freecash is the app we'd recommend. Among get-paid-to apps of its kind, Freecash is known for providing a wider variety of offers than its competitors, for people who think "more is more" when it comes to options. Plus, many people who have used this platform and others report higher payouts with Freecash.

We earned a little over $5 after testing Freecash for a couple of hours, but we could see ways to maximize our earnings once we got the hang of it. The platform claims you can earn as much as $120 with one game offer, and it has more than 15,000 distinct offers available at the time of this update. The Freecash app is available in Google Play, but iOS and desktop users will have to access the platform from a browser. This gives Cash Giraffe the edge if you have an Apple and want an app.

Don't choose Freecash if you think you might prefer to cash out via PayPal, as you can with Cash Giraffe, because you'll end up forfeiting some of your earnings to pay the fee. Cashing out your Freecash earnings to a gift card you'll get a lot of mileage from, such as a Visa or Amazon gift card, is the way to go.

Cash Giraffe vs. Scrambly

If you want to get paid cash to test out games but can't get Cash Giraffe because you have an iPhone, I recommend Scrambly. It's a rewards app that pays you to play games, install other apps, and take surveys, and it offers a similar variety of options as Cash Giraffe (plus an even better customer rating). Unlike Cash Giraffe, there isn't an iOS app for the platform, so you'll need to use a web browser to sign up. But from there, you can filter for apps you can install on your iPhone. You can also get Scrambly on Google Play.

Cash Giraffe vs. Testerup

For anyone who sees the potential Cash Giraffe payouts and wants more, Testerup is one of the best alternatives. It's similar in that it pays you to try apps and games, plus gives you the extra options of getting paid to share product feedback and take surveys, but it offers the opportunity for much more money than most apps like it. However, like Cash Giraffe, you'll want to be strategic about which offers you take to earn the most cash, and it's worth noting that you'll need to make at least $70 to cash out.
