After hours of using it and earning money, we can attest that Freecash isn't a scam — it's legit. A real and reputable get-paid-to (GPT) site and app that lets you earn real money downloading and playing games, taking surveys, and testing partner websites, it's available in the Google Play Store for users 16 and older (the Freecash app isn't available for Apple devices). We've used it ourselves, and Freecash has paid out over $50 million to more than 40 million users.

Freecash is a "get-paid-to" Android app and website (Freecash.com) that pays you to complete tasks like playing games, taking surveys, signing up for services, and watching ads. Freecash offers change often, and you can redeem your earnings in a variety of ways.

Is Freecash right for you?

Freecash would be a good fit for you if you want a casual way to make money on the side without any pressure to get really good at one game. Compared to other get-paid-to (GPT) apps like it, Freecash offers a wider variety of games and tasks to choose from. This sets Freecash apart in a good way and puts it among the best cash games for Android. Many apps will pay you to play games and take surveys, but far fewer will pay you to watch ads or sign up for brand promotions.

Apps like Freecash are also better for casual gamers than competition-based apps, which have cash-entry tournaments and only pay you when you win.

Freecash is a good option if you're on the younger side, too, letting users as young as 16 join (as opposed to 17 or 18, like you'll see with other apps).

When you should consider another app

If you have an Apple phone and prefer an app to a web browser, consider Cash Giraffe or another legit game app. I also wouldn't recommend Freecash if you want to get paid for the amount of time you spend playing games, rather than your progress, or if you would rather play one game consistently.

My experience with Freecash

I played Freecash for about an hour a day for a few days and made $5.95, including a $5 bonus, on Android (app and web browser) and $1.60 on Apple (iPad and laptop). Freecash was easy to sign up for and start using. Here's a breakdown of my experience.

• Games: I chose six games. Once they were downloaded, their icons appeared in the My Offers tab, and the app tracked my play time. When I used the Android app and Freecash.com, I was placed in Lite Mode based on my ZIP code. While I still had plenty of games to choose from, Freecash limited the amount I could earn until I moved out of Lite Mode to Advanced Mode. In Advanced Mode, you'll have a higher earnings potential.
• Surveys: It was hard to qualify, and payouts were comparatively low. The Android app and desktop didn't offer me any surveys, but they did appear on the iOS desktop. I only qualified for three, each worth $0.19 to $0.41.
• Other offers: I didn't receive options to watch ads, sign up for websites, or complete other tasks with Freecash.

How Freecash works

Here's how it works to complete an offer with Freecash after signing up:

• Find games, surveys, and other offers in the Freecash app or website.
• You'll be redirected to finish downloading, start a survey, or complete an offer.
• Freecash tracks your progress whenever you use an app.
• You earn rewards in the form of coins, which are redeemable for cash.
• Freecash offers multiple payout methods, including PayPal and bank transfers, gift cards, crypto and Stash withdrawals, and more.

Lite vs. Advanced Mode

When you sign up for Freecash, the site sorts you into Lite Mode or Advanced Mode based on your region. Being assigned to Lite Mode limits earning opportunities to Freecash-exclusive offerings. Advanced Mode offers more earning opportunities, including tutorial rewards, bonus codes, and daily bonus ladders. It also increases the opportunities you qualify for and provides an affiliate system to earn coins passively.

You can enter Advanced Mode after you reach level 20 in Freecash. Each level requires you to earn 1,000 coins (equal to $1).

Freecash app vs. Freecash.com

The Freecash app is only available on Google Play.

If you have an iOS device, you can use Freecash.com. This is also an option for Android users who don't prefer to use the Freecash app. But note that if you do use Freecash.com on Apple through the browser, you'll need an iPad or iPhone to download and play some games with offers. This is similar to how many apps and sites like Freecash, which often don't provide an iOS app, operate.

Freecash games

Games are by far the easiest way to earn extra cash on Freecash. Freecash generally pays based on the levels you reach in a game.

You'll find a wide variety of game options, including solitaire, bingo, town-building, matching, adventure, war/shooting games, and much more. Freecash games are free to download, but they may offer in-game purchases or give you the option to watch ads to earn more in-game coins or gems.

Freecash surveys

You can also earn money on Freecash by taking surveys, but you won't qualify for every survey you try to take.

I wouldn't recommend relying too heavily on Freecash surveys to make money. You'll likely earn more taking surveys through Survey Junkie, Cash Giraffe, or Testerup. However, occasionally checking for surveys on Freecash might be beneficial if you can find a high-paying option and qualify.

How much can you earn with Freecash?

On the Google Play Store, Freecash says that "... the average Freecash user can earn around $17.53 per day with a first coin cash out after only 17 minutes and 16 seconds of playing." However, the Freecash website says, "Our users can bag up to $12.87 daily by dedicating just about 17 minutes to task completion."

Earning money playing games

Each task or game on Freecash is worth a different amount, and it shows you the total you could potentially earn before you download each game. Some games were only worth $50, while one was worth more than $1,200. Most were worth between $100 and $300.

However, just because you could earn the advertised amount doesn't mean you will.

When you click on a specific game, Freecash will show you how much you earn for completing tasks, such as playing for two minutes a day, playing on seven different days, or reaching various levels in the game. The dollar amounts increase as you reach higher levels of difficulty.

Freecash also offers limited-time payouts for some achievements, such as reaching a certain level within a week or by a specific day. Once the deadline passes, the earning opportunity is gone.

For example, the total earnings possible in a game called Animals & Coins is $283. However, you only get $0.01 per day for playing for two minutes. You can earn an additional $0.38 for playing on seven different days and $0.75 if you play for 20 days.

Additionally, you will earn $0.02 if you reach level four. However, if you reach level 500, you'll receive $37.50. If you reach level 135 within a set time frame, you would receive $30, but that would require near-constant playing.

One game called Balloon Master says you can earn $125. I received $0.01 for downloading and opening the app. The next payouts would be $15 for reaching level 400 within seven days and $20 for reaching level 800 in 10 days. After five days of playing for roughly 20 minutes each time, I had reached level 31.

So, while earning money playing games with Freecash is possible, it won't happen quickly, and you'll need to devote significant time to reaching high levels in individual games.

Earning money with other tasks

Although the amounts you can earn on games are relatively small for the time invested, the earning potential for surveys is even lower. Freecash says that most survey participants earn between $0.25 and $1 per survey, but occasionally higher-paid options are available.

Each survey took five to 10 minutes, but I could only earn a few cents each in compensation. For example, I earned $0.41 for taking the 10-minute political survey. I didn't qualify for the other two surveys in my Featured Surveys box, but they only offered $0.14 and $0.19, respectively.

How to maximize your rewards

If you have access to the Advanced Mode, you will likely earn larger amounts faster than those of us in Lite Mode. As you earn your way, consider the following to help you make progress.

• Take advantage of earning opportunities: While they may be more difficult to find in Lite Mode, look for ways to earn extra money on the Freecash app. If a special promotion or deal doubles your rewards, take advantage of it.
• Check in frequently: While the game offerings will likely be available for longer, some survey offerings can leave Freecash quickly. Don't spend much time taking surveys through Freecash, but do check in frequently and jump on any high-paying surveys or other ways to earn extra cash.
• Invest time in games: Freecash pays the most for reaching higher levels in individual games, and this is one of the best ways to get a bigger payout in Lite Mode. But don't download every game Freecash offers you. Instead, find two or three that you like and play them until you reach the higher payout levels. Look for games with multiple levels of smaller earnings along the way rather than options that force you to achieve high levels to see any money.
• Visit the Featured Offers section: When you reach Advanced Mode, visit the Featured Offers section, which highlights opportunities with both high earnings and a high completion rate from other users. This can help you maximize your time, and you know the opportunity is legitimate because other users completed it.

Freecash reviews from real users

Freecash receives mostly positive ratings on Google Play and Trustpilot, with 4.1 and 4.8 out of 5 stars, respectively. While some users have encountered problems, most enjoy using the app, according to actual Freecash reviews.

One Trustpilot reviewer, Phoebe, wrote this positive review:

5/5 stars: "Genuine site to actually earn, though it takes a while it's free money? Can't complain. You get paid out after you complete the quests and have to wait roughly up to two weeks for the money to be discharged to you where you can then redeem that cash within minutes."

On Google Play, Brittney gave this recommendation:

The developer seems to respond to most ratings for its mobile app. I don't often see this, and it reflects well on Freecash's legitimacy.

But while Freecash's reviews are mostly positive, some users have encountered issues with the app.

Dmytro shared the following negative feedback:

2/5 stars: It was a hard decision between 2 and 3 stars. But I just can't justify 3 stars for now. You can actually earn money using this app (100-300 is possible). Now, the main problems for me are that some of the rewards/offers don't work automatically, so you need to open a support ticket that can be declined after 10+ days with a generic explanation that it didn't pass checks or something very generic. So, good luck build [sic] a streak.

Freecash is generally easy to use, based on our own experience, and players make money. However, there may be issues with having your participation in various tasks counted. If you encounter that issue, contact Freecash customer service as soon as possible to correct the situation.

How to redeem Freecash earnings

To start a withdrawal with Freecash, go to the Cashout section at the bottom-right corner of the Freecash mobile website or on the top navigation bar of the desktop version.

Freecash offers several payout options, including:

• PayPal transfers
• Bank transfers
• Gift cards
• Stash withdrawals
• Crypto withdrawals (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Litecoin)
• Stake withdrawals (a site that offers more cryptocurrency options)

The first minimum cashout amount is $20, and you must reach level 20. If you forfeit your $5 sign-up bonus, your minimum drops to $5. However, the bonus cash doesn't count towards the minimum coin requirement to reach level 20.

After that, every withdrawal must be a minimum of $5 (and up to $200) for PayPal, bank transfers, or gift cards. Stake.us users have a minimum withdrawal amount of $0.10.

Withdrawals via PayPal and bank transfers have a 5% flat fee. Consider withdrawing funds to a Visa gift card rather than via PayPal account or a bank transfer to make the most of your earnings. That way, you'll avoid the 5% flat fee but still be able to use your funds at stores that accept Visa.

Freecash says that most withdrawals are instantaneous on its end but may take up to 30 minutes if processing delays occur. If you request a bank transfer via ACH, your funds may take up to three business days to arrive in your account.

Freecash warnings and caveats

Freecash is legitimate and trustworthy, and it really pays. But with that said, we've found some potential pitfalls while using it that we want to make you aware of.

• Tasks are limited in some locations: If you're placed in Lite Mode when you sign up based on your region, you'll need to earn your way to Advanced Mode to unlock more earning opportunities. There are enough offer choices to earn some cash in Lite Mode, but you won't get the full Freecash experience until you've earned at least 20,000 coins (or $20).
• You won't qualify for every offer: If you try to take surveys with Freecash, you're very unlikely to qualify for every one. You'll need to provide some information to see whether you're a fit, which is time you could have spent earning with another task. You also won't be able to sign up for all offers.
• Some offers have low payouts: Low payouts are a downside of every get-paid-to platform, including Freecash. Compare earnings potential between offers to make the best use of your time, but don't rely too heavily on Freecash to earn money regardless of the offers you complete.
• The Freecash app is only available for Android: The fact that there isn't a Freecash app for iOS devices is a significant downside. You can access the platform via Freecash.com, but you might not prefer this option because it makes downloading apps slightly more complicated.
• Try to avoid that 5% withdrawal fee: PayPal and deposits directly to your bank account will cost you 5% of your earnings with Freecash. If you're flexible, redeem your rewards for gift cards instead, as this redemption method doesn't come with a processing fee.
• Don't try to game the system: Some will tell you they leave Freecash running on their computer or create multiple accounts to earn more with the platform. Don't do this. It's not worth the risk of being banned, and it's not likely to work anyway. Play fair and just follow our tips to make money.

Alternatives to Freecash

Freecash stands out because of how quickly it pays out, but it isn't the only game app like it.

Cash Giraffe

Cash Giraffe functions similarly to Freecash but offers only games rather than multiple activities.

It is free to sign up for and doesn't have ads. Like Freecash, you'll first visit Cash Giraffe and download games from its portal. Cash Giraffe will track the time you spend playing and award tickets you can exchange for gift cards or cash out through PayPal. The site also offers discounts from retailers.

It's available on the Google Play Store, where it has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars and over 440,000 reviews, and in the Apple App Store, where it's rated 4.6 out of 5 stars on 400 reviews and counting.

Survey Junkie

If you're disappointed in how little you can earn for taking surveys on Freecash, try Survey Junkie. This is a survey platform and app, possibly the most popular, owned by market research platform DISQO. You'll build a profile on Survey Junkie's website, and based on your answers, the platform will match you with available surveys.

For every survey you complete, you'll earn points to redeem via PayPal or gift cards to various retailers. You can also participate in the Surf to Earn Community, which will require downloading a browser extension and allowing Survey Junkie to track your browsing habits. You can belong to both communities and earn rewards from each.

Testerup

Testerup is similar to Freecash in that it allows you to complete a variety of tasks, such as answering surveys, testing products, and playing games. It's been one of the most lucrative get-paid-to (GPT) apps we've tested, paying over $71 after five hours of completing tasks and offers. If you've tried apps like Freecash or Cash Giraffe before, you'll already be familiar with how Testerup's activity tracking works.

Unlike Freecash, the Testerup app is available for both iOS and Android. You can redeem your earnings via PayPal, but you'll need at least $70 to make a withdrawal. This high cash-out minimum is one of the main downsides to Testerup, although we feel it's well worth the effort.
