Bubble Cube 2

OUR VIEW

Bubble Cube 2: Top Pro Shooter is a fun, straightforward game that offers the possibility of winning money. I enjoyed playing, but I wouldn’t recommend playing it just to win money.

I found it difficult to get ahead with paid games. When I won, the entry fee would cut my winning almost in half. And when I lost, I lost the entry fee. So it’s slow going to get ahead.

I would either just play for free and for fun, or play some paid games, but stick to options with lower entry fees. And focus on the fun of the game rather than whether you win or lose.

Pros

Key takeaways

  • You can play Bubble Cube 2 for real money on a Samsung or iOS device.
  • Downloading was confusing on an Android device, as the Google Play option is a solo version with no cash games. For money games, you need to download the multi-player version from the Galaxy Store.
  • Withdrawals are confusing. The FAQs said I’d be refunded using the same form of payment (PayPal), but the withdrawal page said I’d receive my funds via a check.

How does it work?

To play the game, you shoot bubbles onto a board in an effort to match colors, or connect three or more bubbles of the same color. Doing this will pop the connected bubbles and score you some points.

One unique aspect to Bubble Cube 2 is its boosters. For example, Bubble Cash, another popular bubble shooter game, doesn’t have boosters.

There are 2X bubbles, which you can see in yellow and green bubbles in the screenshot above. You can also see the rainbow bubbles, which you’ll also be able to shoot, and these can line up with any color, which helps you complete matches.

Game currency

One aspect of the game that I found a little confusing at first are the in-game currencies. There are three to be aware of:

  • Z coins: These are the free currency you use to play free games. You earn them by playing games.
  • Ticketz: These are exchanged for prizes, but it takes a LOT of tickets to earn enough for something. After a couple of hours of play, I have 700 Ticketz. The cheapest prize I see is $1 in bonus cash, and you need to redeem 20,000 Ticketz to get it. Or you could save up a cool 1.14 billion Ticketz and get a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
  • Cash: This is made up of the money you deposit plus bonus cash. You can’t withdraw bonus cash — you can only use it to play.

My experience with Bubble Cube 2

I’ve enjoyed shooter games like Bubble Witch Saga and Zuma before, so I was looking forward to this one. I went to the Google Play store to download it, which went smoothly. I played a couple of practice rounds, and then I started looking for cash games to play.

That’s when I realized I didn’t have the right version. I had to do some research to figure out that I could download it using the Galaxy store since I have a Samsung device.

From there, I tried a couple more free games, then I tried my first cash game. I opted for the cheapest one, with a $0.60 entry fee.

Gameplay options in Bubble Cube 2

I won my first cash game, then lost my second, then won my next game … and so on. With each win, I got $1, but since my entry fee was $0.60, I really only won $0.40. And when I lost, I lost $0.60. So if you’re like me and you lose half the time, you’re eventually going to run out of funds.

In terms of game play, the shooting mechanism felt a little more clunky and less precise than other bubble shooter games. I had more trouble aiming and just felt slow. But that’s at least partly due to the fact that I’m a new player.

I also entered a tournament, but my score was relatively low, so I don’t expect to win anything from that.

Bubble Cube 2 also offers Leagues, which I might consider for future play. With Leagues, each level has a prize. You’re promoted or demoted based on your game performances. When the “season” ends, you’re judged and moved up or down accordingly and win your share of the prize.

For example, I’m at the Novice level, which has a prize of 425 Z coins, which are the game’s free currency. The prize for the highest level is a share of $752.

My tips for winning

Prioritize speed over strategy

There were several times where I took a few seconds figuring out where to shoot or lining up a shot. A better strategy would be to go with your instincts and shoot, even if it’s not the perfect placement. You’ll often be able to match rogue bubbles later and clear them, so a few won’t hurt if it you allows you to move more quickly.

Keep your eye on the hopper

If you can, keep in mind the next color bubble in the hopper as you line up each shot. That allows to think ahead without slowing down your play.

Use boosters

One aspect of gameplay that I think I could improve on is making better use of boosters. Keep an eye on where the 2X bubbles are placed, and try to make multiple bubble matches when you can. And use rainbows for those tough, isolated bubbles.

How much can you make?

I started with $5, and now I have $2.40. I’m new to the game, though, and I mostly played Rookie games, where the most money you can net after the entry fee is $0.40. I did play one Professional level game, which has a $5 prize and a $3 entry fee, but I lost, which ate into my funds.

The highest level cash game is Ultimate, and there’s a $100 price but a $60 entry fee, so the most you would net after paying the fee is $40. Which isn’t bad, assuming you don’t lose several games to win that $40.

So the best bet is to not focus on the prizes, and only play what you can easily afford to (or stick with free games). And practice as much as you can before trying a cash game.

Withdrawals

To withdraw cash, select “Withdraw” from your in-game menu. You can withdraw any money you’ve won or deposited, but you can’t withdraw bonus cash.

The terms say that withdrawals up to your deposit amount are typically returned by the same method you used to deposit money, including a credit card or PayPal. Withdrawals over your deposit amount are sent by mailed check to U.S. players and PayPal in other locations.

Keep in mind that Skillz doesn’t typically have a minimum withdrawal amount, but any amount less than $10 would incur a $1.50 fee.

When I went to withdraw funds, it said I would get a check, but it also had an area I could click that brought up a window stating that Skillz tries to pay you using the same method I used to deposit money. I found that to be confusing.

Withdrawing funds from Bubble Cube 2

The FAQs also said that withdrawals could take up to 4-6 weeks, so don’t expect your funds overnight.

What users are saying

I had a positive, enjoyable experience with Bubble Cube 2, and in general, users agree.

There are multiple complaints about the app crashing, though, and some report challenges getting refunds from games that weren't finished, like these from the Galaxy Store.

This isn’t an issue I experienced, but I did see a couple of times that I won because the other player had disconnected from the game.

Other games to consider

For other fun ways to play games and potentially win money, consider these gaming apps. Both are similar to Bubble Cube 2 in that you can play against other players.

If you don’t enjoy bubble shooters, Dominoes Gold brings the familiar Dominoes board game to your phone or tablet. You compete against other players to see who can get the highest score when you both face a computer opponent. If you play in cash tournaments, you could win real money.

If you enjoy playing Solitaire card games, Solitaire Cube could be right up your alley. This app puts a modern twist on classic Klondike Solitaire and offers opportunities to compete against other players for cash prizes.

FAQ

Is Bubble Cube 2 legit?

Yes. Bubble Cube 2 is legit, and I won money playing head-to-head. You can also enter a tournament (called a bracket in this game) to have a shot at winning a prize. You do need to pay an entry fee to participate in either of these game options.

How do you win Bubble Cube 2?

You win Bubble Cube 2 by getting a higher score than your opponent. The gameplay includes scoring points by shooting bubbles onto the board and matching three or more of the same color to pop them.

You can score more points by clearing colors from the board and popping bubbles. Each match will also have 2X power-ups in play that could offer opportunities to score more points.

What are the Bubble Cube 2 minimum withdrawal requirements?

Bubble Cube 2 doesn’t have a minimum withdrawal requirement. However, there’s a $1.50 charge for any withdrawals under $10, so it could make sense to only withdraw cash in amounts of $10 or more.

Bottom line

I enjoyed Bubble Cube 2’s for its fun, simple gameplay and the opportunity to win money. However, be sure to play a few times before entering any cash games (at least, practice more than I did). That ensures you have more practice and that your phone can handle the game without crashing.
