You might think that most of the high-paying jobs in America have intense hours, are highly competitive, and have you on edge constantly. It turns out there are plenty of jobs that are on the boring side of the equation. These positions involve repetitive tasks, meticulous data management, and administrative oversight, but you'll be compensated well, so you could get ahead financially .

Here are 10 boring jobs that pay $66 an hour or more.

Financial managers prepare reports, direct investments, and develop long-term strategies. This mostly involves desk work involving spreadsheets, compliance documentation, and regulatory filings.

It's methodical, detail-driven work that rarely gets recognition outside the C-suite. The BLS projects employment to grow 15% through 2034, much faster than average, with about 74,600 openings per year across banking, health care, and manufacturing.

Marketing managers

Median hourly salary: $76.76

Despite the creative reputation, marketing managers spend much of their time analyzing campaign performance, managing budgets, and coordinating across teams. It's a strategy-heavy role built on reporting and process rather than big ideas.

Computer and information research scientists

Bottom line

High pay doesn't always mean adrenaline-fueled workdays. In fact, many of the highest-paid careers are built on structured, repetitive tasks such as compliance reviews, data analysis, reporting, and long-term planning.

Trends are now showing that the traditional pay boost for switching jobs has hit its lowest point since 2020, according to ADP data. The gap between pay gains for job-changers and job-stayers has narrowed to record lows, meaning that finding a high-paying, stable role and staying put is currently a more effective wealth-building strategy than frequent job-hopping.
