Easter is right around the corner, and families are not only planning their Easter outfits and decorating eggs, but they’re also budgeting for that big Easter meal. Ham with all the fixings is a holiday tradition, but with grocery prices continuing to climb, an Easter feast might not be in the budget this year.
Don’t worry, though — Target and Walmart have you covered. Both retailers are offering steep discounts on Easter meal packages that feed up to eight people.

Target vs. Walmart Easter meals compared
Both stores’ Easter meals include everything you need to serve a crowd — ham, potatoes, rolls, and green beans — but Walmart is going the extra mile by offering up discounts on desserts and ingredients to make everyone’s Easter favorite, deviled eggs.
Of course, many of these are pantry staples, so you may be able to skip items like the mustard and cream of mushroom soup since the food is sold individually and not as a kit.
Target's meal breaks down to $6.29 per person while Walmart's more extensive meal comes out to $9.18 per person. Either option is a bargain and priced to feed a crowd.
What’s included in Target’s Easter meal?
Target’s Easter meal includes almost everything you could want for your Easter spread on a budget sans dessert:
- Stovetop Stuffing: $2.59
- Del Monte Green Beans: $1.59
- Potatoes (5 lbs): $2.99
- Heinz Homestyle Turkey Gravy: $2.69
- Spiral Sliced Ham: $9.90
- King’s Hawaiian Rolls: $3.99 (with on-site coupon)
- Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup: $1.39
As advertised, the meal feeds four, and when we placed one of each item in our cart, the total before tax was $25.14. If you’re expecting a larger crowd, just double up on what you need!
What’s included in Walmart’s Easter meal?
Walmart’s Easter meal is a little more thorough than Target’s, but also comes with a higher price tag:
- Marketside Cage-Free Large Brown Eggs: $3.92
- Sweet Potatoes (3 count): 4.53
- Sweet Corn on the Cob (4 count): $3.48
- Marketside Caesar Salad Kit (2 count): $8.96
- Great Value Frozen Cut Green Beans (2 count): $1.96
- Great Value Frozen Whipped Topping: $1.07
- Great Value Whole Frozen Strawberries: $2.24
- Vanilla Dessert Shells (2 count): $3.68
- Great Value Mayonnaise: $3.34
- Great Value Yellow Mustard: $0.98
- Sam’s Choice Bone-in Spiral Ham: $26.56
- Dole Pineapple Slices: $1.97
- Great Value Paprika: $1.12
- Betty Crocker Scalloped Potatoes: $2.68
- Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie: $6.97
When we added all the items to our cart, the subtotal was $73.46. The meal, as advertised, feeds up to eight, and since many of these are pantry staples, your total may be lower.
Bottom line
Food prices are through the roof, but some retailers are making it easier for families to enjoy a holiday feast together this year. Target and Walmart are both also offering discounts on Easter brunch items, sides, appetizers, and wine for a truly memorable holiday celebration. This is a rare chance for shoppers to save money on groceries and feel festive doing it.
