Bakery Chain Nothing Bundt Cakes Is Opening 120 More Locations This Year

Cake lovers rejoice! Nothing Bundt Cakes, a growing chain that sells bundt cakes, is expanding rapidly, bringing more opportunities for sweet indulgence. 

After all, if you're going to spend money on eating out, it might as well be a total treat yourself moment!

Founded by two friends in Las Vegas in 1997, Nothing Bundt Cakes quickly grew to more than 500 locations and shows no sign of slowing down. Here's a closer look at the company’s impressive growth and exciting plans for the future.

This week, Nothing Bundt Cakes celebrated the grand opening of its 600th bakery in Tampa, Florida. Since the start of the year, the Texas-based chain has opened 41 new locations and plans to continue this momentum. 

CEO Dolf Berle shared that the company expects to open over 120 new bakeries in 2024 and aims for an annual growth rate of more than 150 stores.

Nothing Bundt Cakes sells its bundt cakes in dozens of flavors, including classic vanilla, red velvet, and chocolate chocolate chip. Their cakes are available in multiple sizes, such as eight- and 10-inch bundt cakes, personal-sized "Bundtlets," and cupcake-sized "Bundtinis." All cakes are made on-site daily and use real butter and cream cheese frosting.

Nothing Bundt Cakes opened 84 new bakeries in 2023 and shows no sign of stopping its expansion. Looking ahead, the chain plans to reach 1,000 locations in the next three years, with most of its growth in the Northeast and Northwest regions. According to Berle, the company has received strong franchisee interest in all areas.

More than 95% of Nothing Bundt Cakes bakeries are owned by franchisees, and the company’s focus on innovations means there are always new flavors and products to try. Recently, Nothing Bundt Cakes introduced its Taste of Summer Collection, available from June to September, which includes a special Key lime flavor.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is poised for exponential growth, with plans to open hundreds of new bakeries and innovate its flavors and products.

"With the great desire guests have to show care and kindness to their loved ones and colleagues, coupled with the rising trend of Gen Z enjoying 'little sweet treats' and the snackification of the American diet, Nothing Bundt Cakes is growing faster than ever," Berle said in a company press release.
