Maryville, Tennessee

Nestled into the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Maryville offers lots for retirees to love.

"The cost of living is 10% lower than the national average, while the average cost of healthcare is 92% lower than the national average," says Madison Baber, representing the Tennessee Realtors.

"The proximity to Knoxville means residents can enjoy the simple life of suburbia while taking advantage of access to hospitals, community centers, and public transportation," she says.

Carmel, Indiana

Just a short drive from Indianapolis, Carmel's 100,000 residents enjoy top-tier healthcare and a major airport, giving retirees the right mix of small-town feel and essential amenities. "Carmel offers a refined, peaceful atmosphere with an emphasis on arts, culture, and community," says Clayton.

"The Carmel Arts & Design District is filled with galleries, shops, and locally owned restaurants, while neighborhoods like The Village of WestClay provide walkability, charm, and modern amenities."

Anaconda, Montana

"For retirees who want the four seasons, fresh air, and unfettered outdoor recreation (hiking, fishing, hunting), Anaconda provides," says Fred Loguidice, real estate expert and founder of Sell My House Fast Virginia, "The median home price here is significantly lower than in boom towns statewide."

With Community Hospital in town, residents can access medical care in this relatively remote part of Montana.

Natchez, Mississippi

Natchez offers southern charm in spades, which might make it the perfect fit for retirees seeking a change of pace. Its long-standing roots on the banks of the Mississippi River offer a slice of history to future residents.

"Natchez is a charming town that boasts of its beautiful antebellum structures and rich heritage," says Loguidice.

With average home values sitting at $116,000, retirees from around the country might enjoy the unmatched affordability. Multiple medical facilities also provide access to essential services retirees may need down the line.

Monument, Colorado

Just north of Colorado Springs, Monument offers small-town charm with easy access to big-city amenities in both Colorado Springs and Denver. Andrew Fortune, realtor and brokerage owner at Great Colorado Homes, predicts it will become a hotspot in the near future.

He says the neighborhoods still "feel private" and "low-maintenance homes in places like Home Place Ranch and decent food choices in Northgate make it easy for people to enjoy life."

Naples, Florida

For retirees seeking a sunny escape, Naples might be the perfect fit. With just 20,000 residents, it offers a true small-town feel plus easy access to the beach. Realtor Omer Reiner, founder of Florida Cash Home Buyers, highlights Naples' "gorgeous beaches, unique shopping, and homes suited for any stage of retirement."

He adds that the area offers abundant outdoor activities, from dolphin watching to golf, along with advanced healthcare options for everything from routine visits to emergencies.

Solvang, California

Although on the pricier side, charming Solvang, steeped in Dutch culture. has the makings of a retirement hotspot, according to Maureen McDermut, realtor at Sotheby's International in Montecito.

"It's a small, walkable village with plenty of cute bakeries and shops," says McDermut, and even though it's quiet, the town is active with annual events, museums, and even a casino.

"As a bonus, there are plenty of parks and events for kids, so visiting grandchildren will be entertained," she shares.
