A Home Depot credit account is beneficial if you frequently shop at Home Depot. Unlike the standard return policy, which typically ranges from 30 to 90 days, purchases made with a Home Depot credit card are eligible for a 365-day return window.

With this no-fee card, you also get special financing offers and promotional perks, including $100 off select purchases upon opening an account.

Don't have your receipt? If you're worried you won't be able to return an item you no longer want or need, you can use Home Depot's credit and debit card lookup system. 

Depending on your payment method, the store may be able to locate your receipt within 90 days of your purchase (or 365 days with a Home Depot credit card payment).

What if you paid cash and can't find your receipt? You'll often get a store or merchandise credit. Although Home Depot may process the return for the lowest advertised price, receiving something back, whether in the form of store credit or not, is better than nothing.
