Casey’s headquarters
Casey’s General Stores, Inc. is currently headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa, near Des Moines.
The company started in 1968 in Boone, Iowa, before expanding to other small towns in Iowa and before adding spots outside the state’s borders.
Casey’s continues to support local communities, with around 50% of its locations in towns of 5,000 residents or less.
Casey’s is the fifth-largest pizza chain in the country and the third-largest convenience store chain in the U.S. It also is the fourth-largest holder of liquor licenses in the country.
Casey’s current locations
Casey’s currently has more than 2,600 locations in the United States across 16 states as it plans its future expansion to include more spots for Casey’s.
The company has more than 500 locations in its home state of Iowa as well as its neighboring state of Illinois.
Casey’s locations are mainly concentrated in the Midwest, with additional locations in a few southern states, including Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas.
How many Casey’s are coming?
In June 2023, Casey’s announced that it plans to increase its reach by adding more than 350 stores to its company.
The retailer hasn’t announced where those stores will be located or if any of them will be new locations.
Get a protection plan on all your appliances
Did you know if your air conditioner stops working, your homeowner’s insurance won’t cover it? Same with plumbing, electrical issues, appliances, and more.
Whether or not you’re a new homeowner, a home warranty from Choice Home Warranty could pick up the slack where insurance falls short and protect you against surprise expenses. If a covered system in your home breaks, you can call their hotline 24/7 to get it repaired.
For a limited time, you can get your first month free with a Single Payment home warranty plan.
Casey’s expansion plans
In June, the company’s chief financial officer told investors that some of the growth will come from acquiring smaller convenience store chains to add to Casey’s portfolio.
The chains targeted would have around one to 50 locations with some larger acquisitions mixed in.
Where Casey’s plans to go next
Casey’s is mainly based in the Midwest, but its expansion plans could take it outside its current 16 states to pick up more places for customers to stop.
Its plans could include states like Colorado in the west and Pennsylvania in the east.
The company also expects to expand its reach to more southern such as Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia.
