How we evaluate products
To identify the best cash back business credit cards, we started by analyzing the various options and the market and looked for those that offered generous rewards rates. We wanted a combination of flat-rate cash back cards and those with elevated rewards in specific bonus categories.
In addition to analyzing each card’s cash back rate, we also looked for cards that had something else to offer business owners. For example, we looked at each card’s welcome offer, annual fee, credit profile, and other perks. Ultimately, we wanted a list that would provide the most value to a wide variety of business owners. We want every business owner who needs a cash back card to find one on this list that checks all their boxes.

Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card: Best overall
Welcome offer: Earn $900 bonus cash back after you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening
Rewards rate: Unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase
Annual fee: $0
The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card from Chase can be a great fit for new businesses, independent contractors, and small business owners who are looking to get the best bang for their buck on a business credit card. This card combines some of your favorite perks of other business cards on the market, which is why I have it listed first overall.
Thanks to its flat rewards rate, I think this card would be great for business owners who want a no-frills card where they don’t have to keep track of bonus categories, but can still earn a slightly elevated rewards rate.
Alternatively, because this card has a $0 annual fee, I think it’s a great option to accompany any other business rewards cards you have that do have bonus categories, but may also have an annual fee. For example, you could pair this card with the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, also from Chase, and redeem your cash back for more value by transferring it over.
Finally, thanks to the Ink Business Unlimited’s long intro APR on purchases, it’s worth considering this card if you’re planning a large purchase or need some time to pay off some supplies or inventory. You could save hundreds of dollars in interest on top of the solid rewards program.
- $0 annual fee
- Flat cashback rewards rate on all spending
- Intro APR offer on purchases
- Generous welcome offer
- No bonus categories
- Charges foreign transaction fees

Ink Business Cash® Credit Card: Best for high rewards rate
Welcome offer: Earn $350 when you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months and an additional $400 when you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first six months after account opening
Rewards rate: 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services each account anniversary year; 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and restaurants each account anniversary year; and 1% cash back on all other purchases
Annual fee: $0
The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is another business card offered by Chase, but this card really shines with its high rewards rate. In particular, you can earn 5% on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services each account anniversary year. If your business spends a lot in these areas, this is a great card to consider.
This card has one of the highest cash back rates for a $0-annual-fee card, so it would be easy to use it on its own or pair it with a different card, such as one that offers a higher flat rewards rate on those purchases you can’t get the bonus rate for on this one.
- High rewards rate
- $0 annual fee
- Generous welcome offer
- Intro APR on purchases
- Spending cap on highest rewards categories
- Low rewards rate on non-bonus spending

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card: Best for common business expenses
Welcome offer: Earn $750 in cash back after spending $6,000 on the account owner's card in the first 180 days of opening your account
Rewards rate: 5% cash back on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked directly in the Rewards Center; 3% cash back on eligible purchases at gas stations and EV charging stations, office supply stores, cell phone service providers, and restaurants; and 1% cash back on all other eligible purchases
Annual fee: $0
The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card has compelling features for business owners who spend a lot of money on common business expenses. With its 3% cash back for eligible purchases at gas stations and EV charging stations, office supply stores, cell phone service providers, and restaurants, I can see how certain businesses could earn a lot of cash back.
This card may also be a good option if you use accounting software. You’ll get a $100 credit for recurring software subscriptions like QuickBooks or FreshBooks.
This is another $0-annual-fee card, so I’d recommend pairing it with another card, either a cash back or points card, that offers complimentary bonus categories or a higher flat rewards rate.
- High rewards rate
- Long intro APR period on purchases
- Generous welcome offer
- $0 annual fee
- $100 annual statement credit for recurring software subscriptions
- Charges foreign transaction fees
- Low rewards rate on non-bonus spending
- You need good to excellent credit

Capital One Spark Cash Plus: Best flat rewards rate
Welcome offer: Earn a one-time cash bonus of $2,000 once you spend $30,000 in the first 3 months
Rewards rate: Unlimited 2% cash back on every purchase, every day; plus unlimited 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel
Annual fee: $150
If you want the highest rewards rate without having to think about bonus categories, the Capital One Spark Cash Plus is a great option to consider. Its cash back rate is higher than any other flat rewards rate on our list, and that’s in addition to the 5% cash back you’ll get on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.
This card is particularly well-suited to high-spend businesses. You can earn a one-time cash bonus of $2,000 once you spend $30,000 in the first 3 months. Capital One also offers up to $2,000 in year-end bonuses for this card, but it’s for every $500,000 you spend during the first year. Finally, the annual fee is refunded if your business spends at least $150,000 per year.
It’s worth noting that this card isn’t a good option if you plan to make some large purchases and pay them off over time, as it requires that you pay your balance in full each month.
- High flat rewards rate
- Above-average welcome offer
- No spending limit on top rewards rate
- No foreign transaction fee
- Large year-end bonus after the first year, followed by a small bonus each year after that
- $150 annual fee
- Must be paid in full each month
- Welcome offer requires high spend

The American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card: Best long intro APR
Welcome offer: Earn a $250 statement credit after spending $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months
Rewards rate: 2% cash back on the first $50,000 in eligible purchases each year, then 1% after that
Annual fee: $0
If you like the idea of having a long intro APR on your business card, consider the The American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card. You’ll pay 0% intro APR on all purchases for the first 12 months (then 17.99% - 25.99% Variable) , which is more generous than many business cards offer. This means that if you need to finance a large expense, you can do it with this card and pay it off over the first year.
We also love this card’s generous 2% cash back on the first $50,000 in eligible purchases each year, then 1% after that. However, because of the spending cap, this card may be best suited to lower-spending businesses.
And if you like this card but would prefer to earn points, check out the The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express. It’s almost exactly the same card, but it earns Membership Rewards points instead of cash back.
- Intro APR on purchases
- $0 annual fee
- Flat-rate rewards on all qualifying business purchases up to the first $50,000
- Has a welcome offer
- Spending cap on highest rewards rate
- Charges a foreign transaction fee
- Low rewards rate on non-bonus spending

The Bank of America® Business Advantage Customized Cash Rewards Mastercard® credit card does something that no other card on our list does: it allows you to choose your own bonus categories.
You can earn 3% cash back in your category of choice: gas stations & EV charging stations (default), office supply stores, travel, TV/telecom & wireless, computer services or business consulting services and 2% cash back on dining (for the first $50,000 in combined choice category/dining purchases each calendar year, then 1%); and unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases. Capital One Spark Classic for Business: Best for fair credit
Welcome offer: Unlimited cash back
Rewards rate: 1% unlimited cash back on every purchase for your business, plus 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel
Annual fee: $0
All of the cards we’ve listed so far are targeted to small business owners with at least good credit, but the Capital One Spark Classic for Business is different. This card can be a solid alternative to many other business cards that require higher credit scores.
No, this card won’t earn you as much as the other points on our list. However, the 1% unlimited cash back on every purchase for your business, plus 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel isn’t bad for someone with fair credit. Some of your other options don’t offer any cash back at all.
This card is a great entry point because once you open the Capital One Spark Classic and start building your credit, you can eventually upgrade to a different Capital One business credit card and earn even better rewards. With good or excellent credit, you can upgrade and get more points or cash back on your spending, travel rewards, and more.
- Good for small business owners with fair credit
- $0 annual fee
- Good rewards rate on travel booked through Capital One
- No foreign transaction fee
- No bonus categories
- Low rewards rate on everyday purchases
- No welcome offer

How to choose the best cash back card for your business
If you’re looking for a cash back business credit card, you’ve got plenty of options. If you don’t know exactly what you want, however, it can be easy to get overwhelmed.
In addition to reading about top choices from the experts, it’s important to consider a few things before you pick a card:
- Your credit score: Business credit cards typically require a personal credit check when you apply, even if you have an extensive business credit history. Our top cashback business credit cards and others typically require at least a good credit score, which means a FICO score of 670 or higher. If your credit score isn’t quite there, your options will be limited.
- Your business expenses: Each credit card has its own rewards program, and while some offer a flat rewards rate on all of your purchases, others provide accelerated rewards on certain spending categories. Think about where your business spends the most money and consider getting a card that offers bonus rewards in that category. If you don’t spend a lot in any one area or don’t spend much in general, a card with a high, flat rewards rate may do the trick.
- Your preferences: In addition to rewards, many cash back business credit cards offer other perks, including welcome offers, introductory 0% APR promotions, and more. As you consider what you’re looking for in a card, think about more than just what you’ll earn in cash back. Think about what would be the best fit for your business based on your preferences, then pick that card.
To help you with your search for the right card, we’ve provided our top picks based on rewards rates, bonus offers, and other features that might make them a good fit.
And remember that you don’t have to choose just one card. Many of the cards on our list have no annual fee, making it easy to apply for more than one. You can pick a few cash back cards — or combine a cash back card with a business travel card — to make sure you always have one available that gives you a good rewards rate on particular expenses.
FAQs
Do business credit cards offer cash back?
Yes, many business credit cards offer cash back, while others offer points on your spending. The exact amount of cash back you’ll earn depends on the particular card. Some credit cards earn a flat cash back rate on all your purchases, while others offer elevated rewards rates on purchases in specific categories.
Do business credit cards have interest?
Many business credit cards charge interest, but not all of them. First, some cards offer 0% APR periods of up to one year. You won’t have to pay interest on any purchases during that time. Additionally, some business credit cards don’t charge interest because they require you to pay your balance in full each month. Even if your card doesn’t require you to pay it in full each month, it’s still a good idea to avoid paying interest. If you carry a balance, the amount you’ll pay in interest can easily overshadow any cash back you’ve earned.
Is there a downside to cash back credit cards?
One downside to cash back credit cards is they often require good or excellent credit. While there are some cash back cards available to borrowers with fair credit, they may be harder to find and will likely have lower rewards rates. Additionally, some credit cards place a cap on how much cash back you can earn, especially for bonus categories. Finally, earning cash back means you aren’t earning points, which can be more valuable, depending on the card issuer.
What is the best cash back credit card on the market?
There’s not necessarily one cash back credit card that’s best for all businesses. We’ve chosen a lineup of cards that are suitable for all types of businesses. The best choice for you depends on your business type, common business expenses, and whether you prefer bonus categories or a flat rewards rate. While there’s not one business cash back card that works for everyone, we’ve narrowed down the list considerably to the top seven cards on this list.
