Bank of America Is Closing These 12 Branches in Florida in 2024

Banks continue to close down branches. In January and February, 222 bank locations closed nationwide.

In Florida alone, Bank of America put eight different branches on the chopping block. A few have closed already, and others are scheduled to lock their doors for good later this year.

Here are the Bank of America branches closing in the Sunshine State in 2024. If you live near one of these branches, it might be time to look for a new location where you can open a new bank account.

This location closed on Jan. 19. While customers have lost the convenience of having a Bank of America branch near the Colonial Palms Plaza, there are two other Pinecrest locations on South Dixie Highway.

This Bank of America branch closed on March 12. Luckily, there are two other convenient branches in Lake Worth, and others in nearby Boynton Beach.

March 15 was the closing day for this Bank of America branch. Fortunately, Miami is home to many other Bank of America locations, several of which are just a few miles away.

A stone's throw away from Cape Canaveral, this nearly beachfront location also closed on March 15. Customers have another option in Cocoa Beach and one in Merritt Island.

This location was shuttered on March 19. It was located about a half-hour from Daytona Beach. This branch was the furthest south in a long string of branches on the Daytona Beach coastline.

The Homosassa Bank of America branch also closed on March 19. Customers will have to travel to Crystal River or Inverness to do their banking if they want to stick with Bank of America.

On June 25, this branch in downtown Jacksonville shut its doors after announcing the closure in February, although the ATMs at this location remain. 

This location is scheduled to close on Oct. 29. Luckily, Delray Beach still has three other locations, so those impacted by the closure should have other options.

There is another Bank of America branch on PGA Boulevard just two miles down the road from this location, which is slated to close on Nov. 19. So customers likely won't feel the sting of this closure too much.

The other PGA Boulevard branch is closer to Interstate 95, which might make it a more convenient location if you are looking for a bank where you can deposit your money.

Customers will no longer be able to visit this location come Dec. 3. The branch in Boca Raton will close permanently.

This location is set to close on Dec. 3, along with the Boca Raton branch. Four other locations remain in the area for customers to build wealth.

This location in Aventura will remain open until April 8, 2025, giving customers a little more time to find a new banking location.

This trend of closing bank branches began about 15 years ago and accelerated during the pandemic. It's clear that customers no longer need consistent access to a physical bank branch now that they can bank through online portals and mobile banking apps.

However, if you still prefer to bank at a brick-and-mortar location, you might have to look for a new place to boost your bank account if your favorite branch is closing. Fortunately, most Floridians will still have convenient access to a Bank of America branch despite such closures.
