If you're curious why many people choose Aldi, it's not just because of its easy-to-access locations. The main attraction is the discounts. In fact, the discounts were exactly what caught my attention.

I began searching for them in daily and weekly advertisements, but I often found the best deals online.

Recently, I've also found some hidden bargains in-store that kept bringing me back. So, if you're looking to save money at Aldi, I have you covered. Here are 13 can't-miss items at the retailer.

Editor's note: Prices and availability are subject to change and may vary by location.

Did you know if your air conditioner stops working, your homeowner’s insurance won’t cover it? Same with plumbing, electrical issues, appliances, and more.

Whether or not you’re a new homeowner, a home warranty from Choice Home Warranty could pick up the slack where insurance falls short and protect you against surprise expenses. If a covered system in your home breaks, you can call their hotline 24/7 to get it repaired.

Freshmont Fish Market Teriyaki Salmon Burgers

Price: $6.59

I could write an entire article about the versatility of Freshmont's salmon burgers, but I'll share a quick tip here. Although they are burgers, I often pop them in an air fryer, shred them with a fork, and serve them over a cup of sticky rice.

To impress a date or elevate family dinner night, finish it with a drizzle of spicy mayo, a sheet of nori, and a few green onions for added flavor. There are four burgers per pack.

Bananas

Price: 17 cents each

Aldi's banana bunches are always priced under a dollar, making them a very affordable choice. Bananas are versatile and can be used in many ways, whether you need more potassium, are low on sugar, or want to add a touch of flavor to your oatmeal or smoothies.

I often buy a bunch, but I never finish eating them before they start to brown. The good news is that brown bananas are perfect for making banana nut muffins, so nothing goes to waste.

Little Salad Bar Flat Leaf Spinach

Price: $1.65

I'm not the biggest spinach fan, but I know it's good for me, so I try to grab some whenever I go grocery shopping. I like to add it into omelettes, protein shakes, and sauces to get the benefits without the taste.

This bag is eight ounces, which works out to be about 21 cents per ounce. Luckily, I've been able to save $4 a week by buying it at Aldi instead of my local big box store.

L'oven Fresh Cinnamon Raisin Bagels

Price: $1.89

Who doesn't enjoy a delicious toasted cinnamon raisin bagel for breakfast? I've tried many brands — some stale, some thick, and others impossible to toast. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this brand not only toasts well but also has a good amount of raisins.

For a quick breakfast trick, I simply toast one of these, spread cream cheese on it, grab a protein-rich smoothie, and head out the door.

Friendly Farms Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt

Courtesy of Aldi friendly farms nonfat plain greek yogurt

Price: $2.85

Eating yogurt increases your protein and calcium intake, which can help reduce the risk of low bone density and fractures. The good news is that you don't have to eat it plain. Mix in berries and freeze it, or fold it into flour to make a protein-rich pizza dough. The possibilities are endless.

If you're a price-conscious shopper, try this affordable staple brand. Sold in a 32-ounce container, this yogurt is rich, creamy, and nonfat.

Simply Nature Creamy Almond Butter

Price: $3.55

You may have heard about almond butter's heart-healthy benefits, but this omega-rich snack often comes at a premium, making it unaffordable for many. Luckily, Aldi offers a pretty delicious 12-ounce jar for under $4.

So, if you're thinking of making the switch from peanut butter to almond butter, now's the time.

Shopping pro tip: This month's best deals

August is here, and with it comes the final stretch of summer. It’s a great time to soak up the season and scoop up hot deals before they fade. Look for savings on:

  • Travel and getaway must-haves
  • Back-to-school basics
  • Clearance swimwear and warm-weather styles
  • For grocery savings, grab peak-season produce, like tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, and berries

As retailers shift their focus to fall, August is the last chance to snag summer essentials at unbeatable prices. Shop smart now before the season (and the savings) slip away.

Specially Selected Brioche Buns

Price: $4.25

Aldi's brioche buns are soft, pillowy, and tasty. With six in the bag, you can enjoy one for just $0.71.

I especially enjoy using them to make tuna melts for friends. To prepare, melt a small amount of butter in a pan, toast the buns until golden on both sides, then add fried onions, Gouda or Swiss cheese, and tuna.

Red cherries

Price: $4.78

If you're a fan of cherries, now is the perfect time to indulge while they are 54% off. Cherries are one of the most expensive pit fruits, along with mangoes, and can cost anywhere from $7 to nearly $10 a pound when out of season.

To enjoy cherries without breaking the bank, stop by your local Aldi while they're still in season and on sale.

Kirkton House 2pk Stackable Open Front Bins

Courtesy of Aldi kirkton house 2pk stackable open front bins

Price: $14.99

My kitchen pantry used to feel cluttered and disorganized with cans and boxes of all sizes. To improve it, I decided to use stackable, open-front clear bins from Aldi, which made organizing much easier.

These bins let me easily see and access my cans, boxes, bagged goods, and snacks. Now, my pantry is tidy, functional, and visually appealing.

Simply Nature Organic Grass-Fed 85% Lean Ground Beef

Courtesy of Aldi simply nature organic grass fed 85 lean ground beef

Price: $5.49

I prefer to buy lean, grass-fed beef whenever possible because it contains more heart-healthy nutrients than grain-fed beef. While both types contain saturated fat, which can raise LDL cholesterol levels, the nutritional benefits of grass-fed beef make it a better choice.

My local HEB sells 16-oz blocks of grass-fed ground beef for $9.35, whereas Aldi offers an organic version for much less.

Black Angus Beef Seasoned Tavern Patties

Courtesy of Aldi black angus beef seasoned tavern patties

Price: $9.30

Whenever I want a more upscale cut of beef, I prefer Angus. Aldi's Black Angus seasoned beef patties have become my go-to for summer barbecues or a quick, In-N-Out protein-style burger to satisfy my low-carb craving.

The best thing about these patties is that they are versatile. You can try them air-fried, pan-fried, or grilled.

Quick tips: How to save on your grocery bill

InsideCreativeHouse/Adobe couple using credit card

Grocery shopping doesn't have to break the bank when you use the right strategies. Here are three quick tips for reducing food expenses:

  • Buy store brands instead of name brands whenever possible.
  • Always make sure to compare unit prices, not just sticker prices.
  • Join your store's loyalty program so you don’t miss out on member discounts.

Even though something like choosing coupons in your grocery store app can feel like an annoying task, the savings can really add up.

Salmon with Mediterranean Herb

Price: $11.29

Ever since I learned about the incredible brain and heart benefits of salmon, I can't resist buying it, despite its high price. After years of buying it at a big-box store, I discovered my new favorite pre-seasoned salmon here at Aldi.

It features a nice chunky cut, is perfectly seasoned, and pairs wonderfully with a salad.

Ambiano Compact Air Fryer

Courtesy of Aldi ambiano compact air fryer

Price: $29.99

Yes, it's 2025, and I still know many people who don't own an air fryer yet. But if I have anything to do with it, they will all get one this holiday, thanks to Aldi.

These air fryers come in many solid colors, mostly pastel, for under $30. They have a nice handle on the pull-out tray and plenty of space inside to prepare a meal for two. You can also buy accessories for them from Amazon, such as silicone trays and elevated grills.

Bottom line

Shopping at Aldi isn't just about finding a few good deals — it's a smart strategy to save money on everyday essentials without sacrificing quality. From pantry staples to fresh produce and surprising seasonal finds, these can't-miss items prove that a budget-friendly grocery run is always within reach.
