These 4 Cities Are Getting a Costco This Year (Is Yours One?)

The retail shopping economy is going through drastic changes as Americans tighten their belts and snap their wallets shut in the face of continually rising prices. Many big-name brands are closing stores and shrinking their location footprint — but not Costco.

The bulk pricing, along with other Costco membership perks, has the wholesaler increasing its store footprint and adding new membership perks, as well.

Learn which cities are getting brand new Costco stores during the remainder of 2025.

• 3155 Argentia Rd.

It's not just the U.S. celebrating new Costco openings, as Canada will be seeing a new warehouse in October at the SmartCentres Meadowvale Shopping Centre near the exit ramp of Hwy 401. There are three other Costcos in Mississauga, located on Rodeo Dr., Dundas St. East, and Laird Dr.

• 6334 Harvey St.

The site of the former Fruitport Golf Course will be a new Costco warehouse this October. The property is located on a 32-acre plot near Harmony Lake Apartments, and an additional 180 single-family homes are currently under construction by JTB Homes as part of the township's downtown development plan.

• 6717 Carlisle Pike

The new Cumberland County Costco was initially scheduled to open this summer, but was delayed when an abundance of unexpected rocks were discovered on the site during excavation. The new warehouse is 161,163 square feet and offers members over 800 parking spaces and 24 fuel pumps. It will open in October.

• 8800 Charlotte Hwy.

The big box retailer is opening a new warehouse near the North Carolina border on October 30, bringing the South Carolina state total up to seven Costcos.

Construction for the site initiated a major traffic change to the area, shutting down portions of U.S. 521, Possum Hollow Rd., and Charlotte Hwy. so that new turn lanes and intersection upgrades could be implemented before the grand opening of the new Costco.

Costco hasn't officially announced these locations yet, as they typically don't release information prior to 90 days from opening.

However, local reports, permits, and paperwork indicate these cities are in the process of getting a new Costco. The expected openings likely won't occur until 2026, with the sites being in various stages of planning, permitting, or construction right now.

August brought the opening of four new U.S. Costco locations and three international warehouses, bringing them on pace with their plans of opening 28 new locations during 2025. The big box retailer ranks third among the world's largest retailers by revenue, following behind Walmart and Amazon.

An estimated 15,000 retail stores will forever close their doors in 2025, according to Coresight Research data. That is the highest number of closures since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Consumers are having to use every trick in the book to tackle high grocery costs, along with increased costs across all goods and services that aren't keeping pace with salaries — let alone fixed incomes.

Combined with the massive layoffs seen this year in nearly every industry, the economy has left families with less money and less spending power, leading to increased sales for stores with bulk or discounted pricing like Costco.
