Casey's headquarters

Casey's General Stores, Inc. is currently headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa, near Des Moines.

The company started in 1968 in Boone, Iowa, before expanding to other small towns in Iowa and adding spots outside the state's borders.

Casey's continues to support local communities, with many of its locations in towns of 5,000 residents or less.

Casey's is the fifth-largest pizza chain in the country by sales and one of the largest convenience store chains in the U.S.

Casey's current locations

Casey's currently has more than 2,900 locations in the United States across 19 states, and it plans its future expansion to include more spots for Casey's.

The company has more than 500 locations in its home state of Iowa as well as its neighboring state of Illinois.

Casey's locations are concentrated in the Midwest, with additional locations in a few southern states, such as Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas.

How many Casey's are coming?

In June, Casey's announced that it plans to increase its reach by adding at least 80 stores to its company in the next fiscal year. This will mean achieving their goal of opening 500 locations by the end of fiscal 2026, up originally from 350.

The retailer hasn't announced where all of those stores will be located. However, they will emerge through a mix of new store construction, mergers, and acquisitions.

This announcement follows the completion of 270 new stores, either built or acquired by Casey's, in fiscal year 2025, which ended this past April. This was the highest number of new locations in the company's history.

Where Casey's plans to go next

Casey's is primarily based in the Midwest, but its expansion plans include at least seven new locations in Texas, which are scheduled to be built by the end of 2025 in Abilene, Tioga, Gladewater, Texarkana, Athens, and Burnet.

A strong first-quarter

The company's first-quarter financial results were released in September, which reported that net income was $215.4 million, up 19.5% from the prior year, and EBITDA was $414.3 million, up 19.8%, from the same period a year ago. The company also saw same-store sales increase 4.3% compared to the year prior. Additionally, Casey's is projecting an overall increase in EBITDA by 10% to 12% in fiscal year 2026.

With the new plans for development and expansion, Casey's plans to invest approximately $600 million in equipment and property for the 2026 fiscal year.
