Burlington is Opening 14 New Stores This Month (Is Yours One?)

Shoppers may soon have a new Burlington store nearby.

As prices stay high, many of us are looking for simple ways to save money on just about everything. Not surprisingly, discount retailers like Burlington have become increasingly popular. Shopping there can help put extra cash in your pocket without giving up big-name brands.

The retailer is continuing its expansion by opening 14 additional stores this month. The new locations could make bargain shopping easier and more convenient for folks across the country. Are you one of them?

How many stores does Burlington currently have?

Formerly Burlington Coat Factory, the rebranded Burlington is a one-stop shop for discounted clothing, accessories, and items for the home (as opposed to simply outerwear).

Currently, Burlington has over 1,000 outlets across the U.S. with plans to expand to the tune of more than 100 stores before year's end.

What's behind Burlington's expansion

According to the Burlington company, expanding aligns with its core mission. "Delivering incredible value on brand-name and on-trend merchandise is at the heart of what we do," said Burlington CEO Michael O'Sullivan in a statement to USA Today.

"We look forward to giving shoppers the chance to explore great savings, find fresh brands, and experience our new and improved store design no matter where they live."

Burlington is building on existing growth

The fact that Burlington is growing isn't new, as it follows a pattern of existing success for the company in recent years.

In 2023, 2024, and 2025, Burlington opened 80, 101, and 104 locations in the U.S. for a total of 285 new stores during that time. The footprint of these outlets is approximately 27,000 to 28,000 square feet each.

The chain is also improving existing locations

Before announcing their most recent expansion, Burlington launched a plan to upgrade its existing stores, branded Store Experience 2.0.

Approximately 50% of Burlington outlets were fully revamped in 2025, and the rest are set to receive the promised improvements by the end of 2026. The chain is also working to reduce certain emissions across the board.

Burlington is opening a new distribution center

In order to support retail outlets, distribution centers are essential. To that end, Burlington is opening a two-million-square-foot facility in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. This is in addition to the improvements the company made to distribution centers in both Georgia and Southern California back in 2024 and 2025.

The facility in Phoenix will open in 2028, but shoppers can look forward to new stores as soon as this month. Here's where Burlington is opening locations in June.

Arizona

Flagstaff: 1514 S. Riordan Ranch St

The new location in Flagstaff will open on June 26. Formerly, the building was home to a Joann Fabrics.

California

Hesperia: 12779 Main St.
National City: 1410B E. Plaza Blvd.
Oxnard: 1855 E. Ventura Blvd.

Three new California locations open June 26. The Hesperia store moves into the former Joann Fabrics space at the High Desert Gateway shopping center, while the Oxnard store is located in the Marketplace at Oxnard.

Florida

Brooksville: 13173 Cortez Blvd.

The Brooksville location opens June 26 at the Coastal Way shopping center, filling the space previously occupied by Office Depot.

Maryland

Brandywine: 15920 Robert S. Crain Highway
Montgomery Village: 19142 Montgomery Village Ave.

Both Maryland locations open June 26 and both are stepping into spaces vacated by bankrupt retailers. The Brandywine store takes over the former Joann Fabrics space at Brandywine Crossing, while the Montgomery Village location fills the former Big Lots at Montgomery Village Center.

Nebraska

Bellevue: 10521 S. 15th St.

Burlington opens its sixth Nebraska location June 26 at Wolf Creek Plaza in Bellevue, taking over the former Joann Fabrics store near Kennedy Freeway and Cornhusker Road.

New York

Canandaigua: 3225 N.Y. 364, Suite 25

The new Canandaigua location opens June 26 in the former Joann Fabrics space, marking Burlington's expansion into the Finger Lakes region.

Ohio

Cincinnati: 9653 Colerain Ave.

The Cincinnati location opens June 19 at the former Joann Fabrics space at Hyde Park Plaza, becoming Burlington's 35th Ohio location and 10th in the Cincinnati area.

Oklahoma

Broken Arrow: 2200 E. Hillside Drive

The Broken Arrow store opens June 26 as part of the new Adams Creek Town Center, a $70 million, 142,000-square-foot retail development at the corner of Hillside Drive and County Line Road.

Texas

Sherman: 4127 N. U.S. Highway 75
Austin: 9500 S. I-35 Frontage Road

The Sherman store opens June 19, relocating from Midway Mall into the former Joann Fabrics space on U.S. Highway 75. The Austin location opens June 26 at Southpark Meadows, one of the largest open-air retail centers in Austin, anchored by Marshalls, Target, and a roster of national retailers.

Utah

Washington: 720 W. Telegraph St.

The Washington location opens June 26 in the former Joann Fabrics space at the Cotton Mills Shopping Center. It's the first Burlington in Southern Utah, with the nearest previous locations in Orem and Las Vegas.

Bottom line

Burlington's growth shows that we're still looking for ways to manage our everyday expenses. As the retailer opens more stores, folks in more areas may have easier access to lower-priced clothing, home goods, and other essentials.
