Access to Kirkland Signature products is among the top Costco membership perks that customers enjoy, and I include myself in the mix.

Of course, most of us don't have room for every product that gets major praise. But knowing which Kirkland Signature items are indispensable can help narrow things down.

As a seasoned shopper, I have a few KS items that are always on my shopping list. These products offer top-quality at a low price and are totally worth buying in bulk.

Many are also backed by Costco's satisfaction guarantee, so you can get your money back if a product doesn't live up to the hype.

Editor's note: Prices and availability are subject to change and may vary by location.

Kirkland Signature Raw Unfiltered Honey

kirkland signature raw unfiltered honey

Price: $9.59

If you have a sweet tooth like me, this under-$10 bulk buy can save you a significant amount of money. While I'd gladly dissolve a bag of Swedish fish into a hot cup of tea, I'm fairly certain this isn't the healthiest way to go.

With that in mind, a spoonful of KS's raw, unfiltered Grade A honey is an affordable alternative with beneficial antioxidants.

The 3-pound flip-cap bottle holds 100% U.S. honey from American beekeepers, and it's True Source Certified and kosher.

Because it's unfiltered, it keeps natural pollen and enzymes that can be removed during commercial processing. Drizzle it over yogurt or use it in recipes.

Kirkland Signature Cheese Pizza

kirkland signature cheese pizza

Price: $10.99

Eliminate delivery fees and save money with this four-pack. When I want a quick meal, I pop one of the pies into the oven. And if I'm feeling fancy, I add a sprinkle of arugula or prosciutto to the tomato sauce, basil, garlic, herb, mozzarella, provolone, Romano, and Parmesan pizza.

Each pizza weighs about 18 ounces and has a hearth-baked crust. Bake it directly on the center oven rack at 425 degrees for 13 to 16 minutes, until the crust is brown and the cheese is golden. A quarter of a pizza has 310 calories and 13 grams of protein.

Kirkland Signature Oxi Powder Laundry Booster

kirkland signature oxi powder laundry booster

Price: $13.59

Groceries aren't the only Kirkland items I stock up on. This 11-pound, 328-load box of laundry booster removes tough stains, saving my clothes from an unfortunate fate. And at $13.59, this is a better bargain than what I've found in other stores.

The chlorine-free, oxygen-based formula works in all washing machines, including high-efficiency models. It also isn't limited to laundry. You can use it to clean carpets, upholstery, patios and grout.

A measuring scoop is included, and the resealable bag makes it easy to store. At $13.59, that works out to roughly 4 cents per load, and the formula is gentle on fabrics.

Kirkland Signature Black Pepper

kirkland signature black pepper

Price: $9.79

I spice up everything from homemade salad dressing to barbecued burgers with black pepper, so for me it's a pantry staple that I can't go without. Plus, this item shouldn't break the bank. For under $10, you can score this grinder plus a refill.

The pack includes a 6.3-ounce grinder and a 6.3-ounce refill of hand-harvested whole peppercorns. The adjustable ceramic grinder lets you switch from a fine to a coarse grind, and the cap comes off for easy refilling.

The peppercorns are steam-sterilized and kosher, and they're known for a robust, slightly fruity flavor. The set is packed in the U.S.

Kirkland Signature Smoked Pulled Pork

kirkland signature smoked pulled pork

Price: $13.99

Short on time? Me too. This pulled pork is 10/10 for its smokiness and convenience. Heat it in the microwave for about seven minutes for an instant meal. Pair this pick with KS's Butter Dinner Rolls to make savory sliders.

The 2-pound package is seasoned with a rub that includes paprika, red pepper and garlic powder, and it has no added nitrates or nitrites. If you'd rather skip the microwave, you can boil the sealed pouch on the stove for 12 to 15 minutes.

Each 3-ounce serving has 160 calories and 16 grams of protein. It also works well in tacos and nachos or piled on a baked potato.

Kirkland Signature Organic Roasted Pine Nut Hummus

kirkland signature organic roasted pine nut hummus

Price: $5.99

Snack smarter and pass on pricey preservative-filled dips. I could eat this toasty pine nut hummus all day long. And 34 ounces for less than $6 doesn't strain my shopping budget.

While I like to pair this pick with cut carrots or celery, you can also slather it over naan bread or eat it with crunchy pita chips.

It's made with organic chickpeas, tahini, roasted pine nuts, garlic and cumin, and it's certified organic, gluten-free and vegan.

A 2-tablespoon serving has 70 calories. It's also kosher and made without preservatives, and the 34-ounce tub holds about 34 servings. Keep it refrigerated after opening.

Kirkland Signature Fresh Mozzarella Cheese

kirkland signature fresh mozzarella cheese

Price: $7.99

Fresh moz isn't a delicacy you can't afford. I put this gourmet cheese on everything. It adds a tasty touch to homemade pizza, summer salads, or lasagna.

Kirkland's two-plus-pound pack is a bargain for under $8. Don't worry if you can't eat the whole thing at once. Unlike pricey mozzarella logs and balls, this pick includes two separate, smaller packages (and much more manageable).

Each 18-ounce log comes presliced, so it's ready for caprese salads and sandwiches. It's made in the U.S. without artificial growth hormones. Each 1-ounce serving has 70 calories and 5 grams of protein. Once opened, plan to use it within five days.

Kirkland Signature Quart Plus Freezer Bags

kirkland signature quart plus freezer bags

Price: $14.79

I use quart-size freezer bags for more than just frozen food. The double zipper seal keeps everything from arugula to freshly baked bread fresh. Compare $14.79 for six packs of 44 (264 total) at Costco to $8.29 for one box of 60 Ziploc Freezer Quart Bags.

The bags measure about 8 by 6 5/8 inches with a 2 1/4-inch gusset, which gives them a little extra room compared to a standard quart bag. They're BPA-free and designed to resist punctures and freezer burn.

The clear plastic lets you see the contents at a glance, and a write-on label makes it easy to note what's inside and when you froze it.

Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Fillets

kirkland signature lightly breaded chicken breast fillets

Price: $15.79

With 22 grams of protein, the antibiotic-free chicken breast is a healthier (and more affordable) alternative to fast food. When I don't have the energy to invest in a from-scratch meal, I use the fillets to make a quick chicken parm or Chick-fil-A copycat sandwich.

The 3-pound bag holds fully cooked, boneless and skinless breast portions made with no artificial ingredients or preservatives.

You can heat them in the oven or air fryer straight from the freezer, with no thawing required. Just make sure they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees. They also work well in salads, wraps and grain bowls.

Kirkland Signature Bottled Water

kirkland signature bottled water

Price: $3.99

Tap water is free. But it's not always an option. That's where this bargain bulk pack comes in. You'll get 40 bottles of the KS generic for under $4. A smaller 24-pack of Aquafina costs $5.59 at Target.

Each bottle holds 16.9 ounces, so you're paying about 10 cents a bottle. The water is purified using filtration and reverse osmosis, then enhanced with a mineral blend for taste. The bottles are also made from recycled plastic.

Keep a case in the car or garage for road trips, sports practice and emergencies. Costco's food court also sells individual bottles for 25 cents.

Kirkland Signature Artisan Rolls

kirkland signature artisan rolls

Price: $5.99

Costco's in-store bakery serves up the freshest products at the best prices. And this 12-count of artisan ciabatta-style rolls is no exception. Warning: These rolls won't last long. So if you're not planning a party or your family doesn't devour them ASAP, pop a few in the freezer for later.

They're made with just five ingredients: unbleached enriched wheat flour, water, sea salt, yeast and malted barley flour. The airy, chewy rolls are especially good toasted or grilled. Slice one open for a steak sandwich or serve them alongside soup and salad.

They contain no dairy or eggs, but they do contain wheat and are made on equipment that also processes nuts, sesame, dairy and soy.

Kirkland Signature Caramel S'mores Clusters

kirkland signature caramel smores clusters

Price: $11.49

Decadent milk chocolate, sumptuous kettle-cooked caramel, mouthwatering marshmallows, and just the right amount of graham cracker crunch make these clusters a hit with my family. So don't expect this pick to last for one whole month.

And other shoppers agree. Redditor panada-rampage posted, "These are the most addicting Kirkland snacks…Easily finished the whole bag in an embarrassingly short amount of time."

The clusters come in a 26.3-ounce resealable bag. Each cluster has about 100 calories and 4 grams of fat. Some shoppers find them very sweet, so one or two may be enough to satisfy a craving. They also make an easy addition to holiday dessert platters.

Kirkland Signature Trail Mix

kirkland signature trail mix

Price: $15.99

Nab a four-pound bag of this tasty trail mix on your next bulk buy shopping trip. The peanuts, M&M's, raisins, almonds, and cashews are the perfect blend of sweet and salty.

The mix includes both peanut and milk chocolate M&M's, and it's certified kosher. It comes in a resealable bag, so you can portion out handfuls for lunchboxes, hikes and road trips while keeping the rest fresh. Just keep portions in mind, since trail mix is calorie-dense.

Kirkland's single-serve trail mix packets, for example, have 300 calories each, so smaller scoops go a long way. You can also mix in pretzels or dried fruit for a custom blend.

Kirkland Signature Diet Iced Green Tea

kirkland signature diet iced green tea

Price: $14.99

Cool down with a refreshing bottle of this citrus green tea. I prefer it chilled straight from the fridge, but you can also mix the zesty zero-calorie blend into a mocktail or cocktail.

The pack includes 35 bottles, each holding 16.9 ounces. It gets its sweetness from sucralose and acesulfame potassium instead of sugar, and it's low in sodium at 50 milligrams per 8-ounce serving.

Costco says the bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic and are fully recyclable. It's a handy grab-and-go option for lunches or a midafternoon pick-me-up when you want something with more flavor than water.

Bottom line

jetcityimage/Adobe costco wholesale store

When it comes down to it, Costco's budget-friendly Kirkland private label bulk buys eliminate the need for extra trips to the store (and that means spending less on gas) as well as help you save money on price per unit and ounce.

Here's a bulk shopping tip to help tackle high grocery costs: Avoid perishable items that don't freeze well. These products often go bad quickly, wasting your money.

If you're unsure about a Kirkland Signature product, give it a try anyway. Costco promises a refund if you're not completely satisfied with a Kirkland Signature item. Also check the unit price on the shelf tag, since that's the easiest way to compare bulk buys with name brands.
