At $4.99 for two freshly baked loaves, this deal is a steal. Whole Foods Market sells a single French baguette for $3.50.

Make a mouthwatering turkey, tuna salad, grilled cheese, or hummus and veggie sandwich with this hearty multigrain bread. While some shoppers miss the old two-loaf pack, you’ll get a whopping 32 ounces (two pounds) in this $6.99 pack.

No gluten? No problem. This Costco buy made our runner-up list as one of the top gluten-free options in the store. Get two 16-ounce loaves of the 100 percent whole-grain bread for less than $9. Not only is this top choice gluten-free, but it also doesn’t contain dairy, soy, or nuts.

Target sells a single 18-ounce loaf of Canyon Bakehouse’s Gluten-Free 7 Grain Bread for $6.39. Compare $0.28 per ounce at Costco to $0.36 from the big red bullseye retailer.

The traditional Indian flatbread is Tandoor-baked to pure perfection. And that’s only part of why these minis made our list of favorites.

Along with the fluffy texture and rich, buttery taste (thanks to buttermilk and ghee), this 1.78-pound 18-count pack is a bargain for less than $6.

A four-count of the same product costs $3.19 at Target. You would need to pay $14.25 to get Costco’s quantity.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly bread that combines quality and cost, this is it. The savory rye taste is perfect for making your favorite deli-style sandwiches. Pair this runner-up with Kirkland Signature Oven Roasted Turkey Breast ($14.09 for a three-count) or Bar M Deli Pastrami ($5.99 per pound).

Croissant lovers will get a kick out of the subtly sweet bread. While we didn’t add traditional fruit bread (like banana nut or blueberry) to our list, this “dessert-like” loaf did get a near-the-top spot.

The flaky, handcrafted, sliced croissant-bread combo comes pre-sliced, making it easy to use this pick. Toast it and smother it with your favorite hazelnut-cocoa spread, or use it to grill a fantastically fabulous batch of French toast.

These must-have artisan rolls almost made it to the top of our list. The flaky, crunchy crust and the oh-so-soft center give the ciabatta-inspired buns a just-right texture you can’t pass up.

Nab the bulk-sized 12-count for less than $7. And if you’re lucky, you can score a freshly baked bag that’s still warm.

And the winner is…Kirkland’s savory, herbaceous, cheesy rosemary parmesan loaf. The two-pound loaf is a meal in itself. But that doesn’t mean you can’t slice it and sandwich turkey, sliced steak, grilled chicken, or veggies in between.
