How much does Hulu cost?

While other streaming services have only a few plans to choose from, Hulu can be customized to your liking. Here's a quick look at much Hulu costs:

  • Hulu plan: $7.99/month
  • Hulu No Ads plan: $14.99/month
  • Hulu + Live TV plan: $69.99/month with ads or $82.99/month without

Each Hulu plan offers unique features that will appeal to different viewers. Whether you're looking for enhanced cloud DVR, unlimited screens, and add-ons for other languages, you can build your ideal Hulu experience based on your needs.

Enhanced cloud DVR is basically a fancy way of saying that you can record and re-watch live programming whenever you want. This is a perfect feature if you are unable to watch the local news one evening or enjoy having a football game saved to rewatch after the excitement is over. Without the enhancement add-on, you will have access to 50 hours of DVR space. With the add-on, you will have 200 hours of DVR space. And don't forget, the best part of DVR is that you can fast-forward through the commercials.

If you plan on sharing your Hulu login with your friends and/or family, the unlimited screens add-on is a must. However, there are limits to premium networks like HBO and Cinemax — you can only stream to a maximum of five devices.

Lastly, if you enjoy content in Spanish, you can purchase the Espanol add-on to access content on networks like ESPN Deportes and NBC Universo.

Hulu plan

It will cost you $7.99/month for the basic Hulu plan, which is one of the most cost-efficient streaming options. With this plan, you will have to watch advertisements during your shows, and you will not be able to watch simultaneously with other people.

This plan is best for someone looking to access great content, doesn’t mind watching the occasional commercial, and wants to save on their subscription bills.

Hulu No Ads plan

If you cannot bear watching ads during your marathon of 30 Rock, the Hulu No Ads plan will be a great go-to. This plan will cost you a bit more at $14.99 per month.

This plan is great for someone who is willing to spend a bit more money to enjoy their shows without pesky commercial interruptions.

Hulu + Live TV plan

To cater to sports fans and users who are joining the cord-cutter movement, Hulu also has live TV content. It includes many of the major TV networks that we are familiar with.

However, it is a significant price jump to either $69.99 or $82.99 per month. The $69.99 plan comes with Hulu, Live TV, Disney+, and ESPN+, but all come with ads. If you opt for the $82.99 monthly plan, you'll have access to the above channels without ads. The only exception is ESPN+, which has ads on either tier.

This plan is great for someone who wants to have the full suite of content and wants to cut cable from their monthly bills. With this much content, you will be well entertained, so you can make that call to your cable company without hesitation.

Why we chose these cards (methodology)

All of these cards mentioned have one thing in common — they all offer the ability to earn significant cash back or rewards from your Hulu subscription.

Over one or two months, the rewards may not seem like much. However, if you check your rewards or cash back balance after a year, you may be surprised at how much you earned.

In addition to the rewards you will earn, credit cards are a much safer way to pay for streaming services. Using a debit card is risky because if someone is to find your debit card number online, your bank account could be at risk.

The bottom line on the best credit cards for Hulu

It can be easy to ask about the best credit card out there. However, the best card varies based on your unique situation; it’s the one that aligns with the purchases you make and rewards you the most according to your spending.

Don’t overthink selecting a credit card for your Hulu subscription, but make sure to put it on your to-do list as you may be missing out on valuable rewards. But first, it’s time to binge-watch episodes of Parks and Recreation, preferably with no commercials.
