These 10 Cities Are Getting a Shake Shack in 2025 (Is Yours One?)

Shake Shack has big plans for this year. The fast-casual burger chain plans to open 80 (or more) restaurants in 2025, with long-term goals of increasing its footprint to 1,500 locations across the U.S.

Shake Shack currently operates 329 company-owned stores, however, they have lofty expansion plans they hope will position them as major competitors to larger brands.

• Big Horn Blvd. and Wymark Drive

The Sacramento area is getting its fourth Shake Shack. The location will be opening in a new shopping center currently under construction in Elk Grove.

• 9105 Strada Place

The very first Shake Shack in the Naples-Fort Meyers market will be opening soon in a spot that was previously home to the Hand & Harvest Artisan Market. There are 20 existing locations in Florida, with most concentrated around the Miami and Orlando areas.

• Heritage Court and Battery Ave.

Wahlburgers is out, and Shake Shack is in as the chain takes over the location in The Battery. There may be eight other Shake Shacks in Georgia, but this will be the first location in all of the U.S. with a bar.

• Sunrise Highway

With the opening of The Shops at SunVet in Holbrook, the shopping center will be bringing a Shake Shack along with it. Slated to open in late 2025, it’ll be joining brands such as Crumbl Cookies, J. Crew, Whole Foods, Nordstrom Rack, Sephora, and many others.

• Blue Point Road and Middle Country Road

A new Shake Shack is coming to Long Island, and it will be the city’s first with a drive-thru. With the special permit requests being approved by the town’s board, the restaurant will make its way into a shopping center on the corner of Blue Point and Middle Country roads.

• 176 N. Bedford Road

The original Shake Shack opened in New York City back in 2004, but the Lower Hudson Valley will be gaining another location soon. The Mount Kisco location will be the sixth in Westchester, replacing what was formerly a Dunkin’ Donuts.

• New Fashion Way and Outlets Blvd.

The Charlotte Premium Outlets will be gaining a Shake Shack in 2025, so shoppers can enjoy the blissful combination of 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers and milkshakes. It will be located in front of Saks Off Fifth Avenue.

• 249 Calhoun St.

Cincinnati is gaining a new Shake Shack as the chain takes over what was previously a Keystone Bar and Grill in the Clifton Heights area. The spot aims to serve the University of Cincinnati student body and will be centrally located near University Square.

• 12170 W. Broad St.

The third Shake Shack for the Richmond area is under construction. The Short Pump outpost will be near other commercial buildings currently under construction, along with 100 residential condominiums.

• 21000 Southbank St.

Loudoun County is getting its first Shake Shack. A future part of the Cascades Marketplace shopping center, the burger chain will be claiming a spot that was previously home to a McDonald’s.

The vacant building will be torn down to make way for the new construction, which will include a drive-thru, rather than adapting the existing architecture.

Other fast food restaurant chains are closing locations to double down on the most profitable areas, but Shake Shack is tripling down with their projected plans of opening 1,500 locations.

This is more than three times their previous target of 450 domestic locations over time. There isn’t a definitive timeline on the company’s projections, but with 80 or more being planned for just 2025, they are well on their way.

Shake Shack has become a leader in the fast-casual burger world after their debut in Madison Square Park with a kiosk-style location. Although that one was never intended to become a chain, the success of the New York City design was so overwhelming that the potential for expansion was undeniable. From there, the Shake Shack brand was born.
