These 21 Cities Are Getting a Raising Cane's in 2025 (Is Yours One?)

Their business plan got a C-minus in university, but 28 years later, they have over 800 locations — and that number is about to go even higher. The fast-casual chicken chain Raising Cane's is taking advantage of the mass closures of other restaurants to expand their own store footprint.

• Birmingham

This will be the third Raising Cane's in the state, with the other two being located in Mobile and Tuscaloosa. No opening date has been announced yet, but the chain will be located at the former Lloyd's restaurant on U.S. Highway 280.

• Visalia
• Poway

Visalia got a second Raising Cane's location at the beginning of July, but California was already boasting the highest location count for the fast casual restaurant, with over a hundred stores. Poway's new restaurant is scheduled to open before the end of July.

• Wethersfield

The state now has three Raising Cane locations. Wethersfield's new location at 1298 Silas Deane Highway just opened, and locals are delighted they can now satisfy their fried chicken cravings.

• Jacksonville
• Largo

Jacksonville got its first Raising Cane's on July 15, located at 8308 Merchants Way. Largo doesn't have an opening date yet, but a former Red Lobster location at 10500 Ulmerton Road is in the works to be transformed into a double drive-through for the chicken chain.

• Normal
• Chicago Ridge

The city of Normal got its first Raising Cane's on July 15, located at 311 A Veterans Parkway. Since opening day, traffic has been heavy, and the restaurant has even hired security to manage the flow of traffic. 

The Chicago Ridge new location opened last month at 6401 95th St., featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community giveaways, and live music.

• Indianapolis
• Castleton

Indy is getting a second Raising Cane's location later this year, with plans to open in December in a location north of County Line Road on the south side of the city. Castleton's new location is also scheduled to open this winter and will be located off East 82nd St.

• Wichita

The new Wichita Raising Cane's quietly opened in June, at 350 S. Ridge Road, bringing the total state count of locations up to seven. The opening was received with excitement by locals who enjoyed giveaways and celebration.

• Saugus
• Fall River

Bringing Raising Cane's to new markets often means expanding into the northern region, as the chain has predominantly been a southern presence since its first opening in Louisiana. 

The Saugus location recently opened at 799 Broadway. The Fall River location, at 323 William S. Canning Blvd., will open on Aug. 5.

• Kentwood
• Portage

Raising Cane's is planning a new restaurant location by the Trader Joe's in Kentwood. It's scheduled to be open sometime this year, although specifics have not yet been detailed. The Portage location broke ground on June 12, with a tentative opening date in October.

• Southaven

The new Southaven location at 357 Goodman Road West opened on June 10, bringing the total number of Raising Cane's locations in the state to 14, where diners can grab the famous chicken.

• Las Vegas

Vegas is up to 14 Raising Cane's to feed the hungry locals (and tourists) as of July 15. The new location just opened at 6440 S. Eastern Ave.

• Watchung

Raising Cane's only made its way to the Garden State last year, but has plans to continue to grow their presence. An opening date hasn't been confirmed yet, but the new restaurant will be located at the Blue Star Shopping Center along Route 22.

• Ontario

The new Ohio Raising Cane's location opened at the end of June at 720 N. Lexington-Springmill Road, and included a traffic warning from the local police because the turnout was anticipated to be so high. 

The fast-casual chicken chain often offers prizes and giveaways at grand openings, making it a popular event to attend for "Caneiacs".

• Indiana
• Mechanicsburg

The small college town of Indiana is getting a new Raising Cane's on Oakland Ave. Locals can attend the grand opening on Aug. 7. 

Nearby Mechanicsburg is also slated to get its first Raising Cane's restaurant in the new Beltway Towne Centre on Carlisle Pike later this year, probably in late fall or early winter.

Raising Cane's has jumped to the top three of chicken chains, surpassing KFC in annual sales to join the ranks of Chick-fil-A and Popeyes. Customers like the simple menu and no-nonsense pricing, which avoids gimmicks like value plays and limited-time offers that can trick them into buying more. They find that they keep more cash in their wallets with straightforward pricing.

Raising Cane's plans to open nearly 100 new locations in 2025, and a similar amount in 2026, with an ultimate goal of reaching 1,600 restaurants nationwide.
