These 59 Cities Are Getting a Burlington (Is Yours One?)

Traditional department stores are struggling to stay afloat while shoppers are snapping their wallets shut to focus on saving money for everyday essentials. But the good news is that many off-price and discount department stores are stepping up to fill the gaps.

Burlington set out to open 100 locations in 2025, with a goal of opening 500 new stores between 2024 and 2028. Learn where new stores are opening next, and see if one will be coming soon to a city near you.

• Green Valley: 18705 S. I 19 Frontage Road (Aug. 29)
• Phoenix: 7333 W. Thomas Road (Oct. 10)
• Phoenix: 4255 W. Thunderbird Road (Oct. 17)

There might be more new Burlington locations headed to Arizona soon, as court filings show the discount department store filed to take over two leases that were formerly Joann fabric stores, one in Avondale and one in Flagstaff.

• Antioch: 5709 Lone Tree Way (Sept. 5)
• North Highlands: 3615 Elkhorn Blvd. (Sept. 19)
• City of Industry: 21640 Valley Blvd. (Oct. 3)
• Fresno: 4895 E. Cesar Chavez Blvd. (Oct. 10)
• Merced: 3138 R St. (Oct. 10)
• Visalia: 720 W. Riggin Ave. (Oct. 10)
• Colton: 1080 S. Mount Vernon Ave. (Oct. 24)
• Montclair: 5200 Moreno St. (Oct. 24)

Additional locations in Buena Park, Santa Clarita, Manteca, Bakersfield, and Hesperia might be on the horizon for California, as Burlington is seeking to take over leases from former Joann fabrics stores.

• East Haven: 78 Frontage Road (Oct. 17)
• North Haven: 380 Universal Drive North (Oct. 24)

The new Burlington in East Haven will feature the store's reimagined layout and updated logo for an improved shopping experience. The state has 17 other locations, but they may not have been updated with the new Burlington experience.

• Tampa: 13123 N. Dale Mabry Highway (Sept. 19)
• Orlando: 7873 S. Orange Blossom Trail (Oct. 17)

If you lost a Joann's, you might soon be gaining a Burlington. Bankruptcy filings for the fabric store indicate that Burlington also wants to take over the leases on stores in Jacksonville, Lady Lake, and Pompano Beach.

Burlington also recently took over three locations in May and June in Atlanta and Macon. Previously, they were Joann's fabric stores.

• Idaho Falls: 3011 S. 25th St. East (Oct. 24)

Currently, there are three Burlington stores in Idaho: in Boise, Meridian, and Nampa. The state's fourth location will open on Oct. 24.

• Machesney Park: 1524 West Lane Road (Sept. 5)
• Algonquin: 175 Randall Road (Oct. 3)
• Chicago: 7507 N Clark St (Oct. 24)

The Gateway Shopping Center in Machesney Park is getting more than just a new Burlington; they're getting a revamped store in the new and updated model of the reimagined layout.

This new store will be replacing the previous location at North Second Street. The refreshed format of the store will feature a better organization of aisles and signage that makes navigating easier for shoppers.

• Louisville: 6801 Dixie Highway (Oct. 3)

The Louisville Burlington store is relocating to Dixie Manor and will be unveiling one of the new refreshed layouts aimed at customer satisfaction.

• Baton Rouge: 10505 S. Mall Drive (Oct. 24)
• New Orleans: 500 Port of New Orleans Place Suite 128 and 124 (Oct. 24)

Currently in Louisiana, you can find Burlington stores in nine different cities. These additions will be the second stores in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

• Bangor: 6 Bangor Mall Blvd. (Sept. 26)

The new Burlington location will be located down the street from the old store on Springer Drive and will be occupying a space next to Bob's Discount Furniture.

• Grandville: 4655 Canal Ave. SW (Oct. 3)
• Ypsilanti: 3150 Carpenter Road (Oct. 10)

Burlington's deal with Joann's fabrics during their bankruptcy proceedings also made a bid to take over the lease for a location in White Lake.

• Wentzville: 1927 Wentzville Parkway (Oct. 17)

Burlington also opened a new store in Columbia on July 25, as part of the summer round of grand openings.

• Las Vegas: 3940 Blue Diamond Road (Sept. 9)

Burlington currently operates 11 locations in the Las Vegas Valley, one of which just opened on Aug. 22 on Civic Center Drive.

Columbia Park Center in North Bergen will be getting one of the new, refreshed, and streamlined layouts, which will have more of an open-concept feel. It will also be debuting the redesigned Burlington logo.

• Irondequoit: 2255 East Ridge Road (Oct. 3)

Burlington's new Irondequoit location will feature one of the new reimagined layouts. The discount department store intends to transition all of its locations to the new format by the end of 2026.

• Warrensville Heights: 4063 Richmond Road (Oct. 3)

The new Burlington in Warrensville will bring the state footprint up to 32 stores in Ohio. Burlington also made a bid on three former Joann fabrics locations in the state during their bankruptcy dealings, in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Youngstown.

• Warrington: 1015 N. Main St. Space 1015 (Sept. 19)
• Glenolden: 20 N. McDade Blvd. (Oct. 24)

The Shops at Valley Square will be home to the new Burlington in Warrington, making it the third Bucks County location, and the 41st in the state.

Tennessee welcomed another new location earlier this year, taking over a space in Bartlett Towne Center that was previously occupied by a Petco.

El Paso will be getting one of the updated store layouts and will be located in the same shopping center as Bassett Place.

• Puyallup: 120 31st Ave. SE (Sept. 19)

Puyallup lost a Big Lots, but now, Burlington is moving into their previous location. This will be the 19th store in Washington, and is one of 34 Big Lots locations that Burlington purchased after the discount retailer filed for bankruptcy in September of last year.

Burlington has an aggressive footprint strategy for the next three years, capitalizing on real estate left vacant by businesses going through bankruptcy proceedings. They seem to be on track to open 100 new stores by the end of this year, and by the end of 2026, all of their stores will feature the updated layout.
