On January 16, Chrysler filed with the NHTSA that 6,066 of its 2016 to 2020 RAM 1500, RAM 2500, and RAM 3500 pickup trucks had side curtain airbag inflators that might rupture during a crash, sending short metal fragments into drivers and passengers.

Dealerships are supposed to examine and replace affected airbags as necessary, free of charge.

On January 23, the NHTSA reported that 294,612 of its 2023 to 2025 Honda Pilot SUVs, 2022 to 2025 Acura MDX, and 2021 to 2025 Acura TLX vehicles were being recalled due to a software error that could cause the engine to stall.

Dealerships will reprogram this faulty software for free.

On February 14, the NHTSA reported that Ford Motor Company would recall 240,510 of its 2020 to 2021 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator units due to loose or faulty seat belt buckles.

The buckles and anchor bolts on these seatbelts were not properly secured and could fail to protect drivers and occupants during an accident. Concerned Ford and Lincoln owners can go to dealerships, which will inspect seatbelts and anchor bolts and perform any necessary replacements for free.

On February 6, the NHTSA announced that Toyota was recalling 221,846 of its 2024 and 2025 Toyota Tacoma units over potential brake fluid leaks that could hinder drivers' braking ability, causing a crash.

Dealerships will inspect and replace defective rear brake hoses at no cost.

On March 6, General Motors filed recalls for 90,081 units of its 2019 to 2020 Cadillac CT6, 2021 and 2022 Cadillac CT4, Cadillac CT5, and 2020 to 2022 Chevrolet Camaros. These vehicles were equipped with faulty 10-speed transmissions that are at risk of internal damage, which could cause the wheels to lock up while in operation.

Dealerships will install software to monitor transmission control modules at no cost.

On April 24, General Motors filed a recall for 597,571 units of its 2021 to 2024 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles over faulty crankshaft and connecting rod components that could cause engine failure.

Dealerships will inspect and, as necessary, repair or replace these engine parts for free.

On May 8, Chrysler filed recalls for 250,651 of its 2022 to 2025 Pacifica and Voyager minivans due to faulty right- and left-side curtain airbags.

According to the NHTSA filing, these airbags may have improperly sealed seams, resulting in insufficient pressure during an accident and potentially causing occupants to be ejected from the vehicle. Dealerships will replace any faulty side curtain airbags free of charge.

On June 12, Honda filed a recall for 259,033 of its 2021 to 2025 Acura TLX, 2023 to 2025 Acura MDX, and Honda Pilot SUVs with the NHTSA.

According to the filing, these vehicles may have faulty brake pedals that can shift out of position, preventing drivers from properly applying the brakes, leading to a crash. Dealerships will inspect and replace brake pedal assemblies as necessary for free.

On July 11, Ford filed a recall for 694,271 of its 2021 to 2024 Bronco Sport and 2020 to 2022 Ford Escape SUVs with the NHTSA. According to the filing, these vehicles' engines may have a fuel injector crack, causing fuel to leak inside the engine, potentially causing a fire.

Dealerships will replace fuel injectors and fuel rail assemblies, and update engine control software as necessary, free of charge.

On September 4, Chrysler filed a recall with the NHTSA for 91,787 of its 2022 to 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid units.

According to the filing, these vehicles have a faulty software issue in their hybrid control processor that can cause them to lose drive power, leading to a crash. Dealerships will perform any necessary software updates at no cost.

On September 11, Toyota filed a recall for 591,377 with the NHTSA for the following models: 2023 to 2024 Toyota Venza, 2023 to 2025 RAV4 Prime, RAV4, Highlander, GR Corolla, Crown, 2024 to 2025 Lexus TX, Lexus LS, Toyota Tacoma, Grand Highlander, 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV 4 Plug-in Hybrid, and 4Runner.

According to this filing, these vehicles might suffer from an electrical system failure that causes the instrument panel to not display important information, such as speed, tire pressure, and brake system warning lights. Dealers will inspect these instrument panels and perform any replacements or necessary software updates for free.

On September 12, Hyundai filed a recall with the NHTSA for 568,580 of its 2020 to 2025 Palisade SUVs over seat belt buckle issues. According to the filing, the seat belt buckles may fail to latch and may be unable to properly restrain occupants during a crash.

Dealerships will inspect and replace seat belt buckle assemblies at no cost. Concerned Hyundai Palisade owners can check their seat belt buckles by inserting the belt into the buckle and quickly pulling on it to test its effectiveness.

On September 19, Ford filed a recall for 115,539 of its 2020 and 2021 F-250, F-350, and F-450 trucks with the NHTSA. According to the filing, these vehicles were at risk of having the steering column detach, which could cause drivers to lose control. Dealerships will inspect and replace faulty steering columns at no cost.

On September 23, BMW filed a recall for 196,355 of its vehicles in North America with the NHTSA. The models included: 2019 to 2021 BMW 330i, 2019 to 2022 BMW Z4, 2020 to 2022 BMW 530i, BMW X3, BMW X4, Toyota Supra, 2021 to 2022 BMW 430i, BMW 430i Convertible, and 2022 BMW 230i.

According to the filing, these BMW vehicles, along with the Toyota Supra models they provide parts for, contain a starter relay that may short-circuit, causing a fire.

Dealers will inspect and replace damaged engine starters for free. The filing advises owners of the affected vehicles to park outside and away from any buildings until dealerships have fixed this issue.

On October 2, Hyundai filed a recall for 135,386 of its 2024 and 2025 Santa Fe compact SUVs with the NHTSA. According to the filing, the starter motor terminal covers on these vehicles may not have been properly installed, which could lead to an electrical shortage and cause a fire.

Dealerships will inspect, replace, or reinstall any faulty starter motor terminal covers at no cost.

On October 30, Chrysler filed a recall with the NHTSA for 320,065 of its 2020 to 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022 to 2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe units.

According to the filing, the high-voltage battery in these vehicles may fail internally, causing the vehicle to combust while in operation or while parked. Vehicle owners should park outside and away from any buildings and refrain from charging these vehicles until dealerships have performed high-voltage battery software updates or replacements, which they will do for free.

On November 13, Honda filed a recall for 256,603 of its 2023 to 2025 Accord hybrid sedans with the NHTSA. According to the filing, a software error could cause these vehicles to lose drive power, resulting in a crash. Dealerships will reprogram this faulty software for free.
