American Express® Gold Card
If you enjoy dining out, the American Express® Gold Card could be worth considering. While it has a $325 annual fee, it helps you earn up to $120 per year in Uber Cash by adding the Amex Gold Card to your Uber account. (Enrollment required.). Effective 11/8/2024, an Amex Card must be selected as the payment method for your Uber or Uber Eats transaction to redeem the Amex Uber Cash benefit.
Each month, you'll receive $10 in Uber Cash that you can use toward Uber Eats orders or Uber rides in the U.S. Keep in mind that your unused monthly Uber credit doesn’t carry over to the following month.
You can also earn 4X Membership Rewards points on U.S. supermarkets (up to $25,000 per year, after that 1X) That means you can get bonus rewards on eligible Uber Eats orders. This doesn’t include Uber rides, though.

Despite the annual fee of $695, The Platinum Card® from American Express can be a worthwhile option for frequent Uber users thanks to its luxury travel card benefits.
Cardholders can earn $15 in Uber Cash for rides or Uber Eats orders each month, with an additional $20 in December, for a total of up to $200 in annual Uber Cash. Enrollment is required; Terms apply. Starting 11/8/2024, you must use an Amex card as the payment method to redeem your Amex Uber Cash benefit.
Keep in mind that your unused Uber Cash doesn’t carry over to the following month, and you must add your Platinum Card as the payment method to your Uber account.
The Amex Platinum Card also has a robust rewards program, but you won’t earn bonus points on Uber rides. Instead, you can earn 5X points per dollar spent on eligible airfare (on up to $500,000 per calendar year, after that 1X) and eligible hotel purchases, and 1X points per dollar on all other eligible purchases.

No, Uber doesn’t offer a credit card. The company used to offer a credit card in cooperation with Barclays, known as the Uber Visa Card, which was ideal for Uber loyalists. However, Barclays announced that it was discontinuing the Uber Visa Card starting August 4, 2021. The card had not been accepting new applications since early 2020. Existing cardholders were transferred to a different product in October 2021.
